As RedState previously reported, the Republicans thought they had come to an agreement with Joe Biden and the Democrats on an infrastructure bill compromise. But, after making a big deal out of it and acting as though the deal was the greatest thing since sliced bread, Biden then pulled the string and claimed he wasn’t going along with it — unless it was also tied to his monstrosity of a bill, his American Families Plan, to which none of the Republicans had agreed.
BIDEN: If they don’t come [in tandem] I’m not signing them.
…
REPORTER: Do you support then, Speaker Pelosi’s stated plan to hold the bipartisan deal in the House until the Senate also passes reconciliation? Do you support that sequencing on her part?

Then, after that boomeranged because no one agreed to that, Biden reversed himself again and said no, the two things weren’t tied together at all and that he never said they were.
Here’s a great breakdown of what gaslighting this all was by Biden, from Fox News’ Chris Wallace and Axios’ Jonathan Swan.

So, that should have taught the Republicans something about the duplicity of Joe Biden in negotiation, if they didn’t already understand that he wasn’t to be trusted.
But, apparently, it didn’t get through to Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT). He suffers from the same affliction as does Paul Krugman — the affliction of being perpetually wrong.
Romney said that he accepted Biden’s gaslighting.
“I do trust the president, and he made very clear in the much larger statement that came out over the weekend … carefully crafted and thought through piece by piece, as that if the infrastructure bill reaches his desk, and it comes alone, he will sign it,” Romney said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“I do trust the president,” added Romney, the GOP’s 2012 presidential nominee.
“I do take the president at his word,” he said. “A man of honor? Absolutely.”
At this point, why does Romney still call himself a Republican? Either he’s beyond stupid, and/or he simply doesn’t care to stand up for any Republican positions. I think it’s both.
How can any Republican claim to trust Biden, when he’s trying to massively push through such a radical agenda and is constantly pushing lies about Republicans? Remember Biden is the same guy who is lying about the Republican election security laws calling them “Jim Crow 2.0.” Not to mention a boatload of other lies. But he’s “man of honor” to Romney.
Meanwhile, Romney, on the same show, mocked the question of election concerns and denigrated President Donald Trump, “There’s a growing recognition that this is a bit like WWF. That it’s entertaining, but it’s not real.”
Mitt Romney on Trump continuing to push the Big Lie:
"This is like WWF, that it’s entertaining, but it’s not real… Did he hear it from the intelligence community? No. So where did he hear it from? The MyPillow guy? Rudy Giuliani?" pic.twitter.com/cQdhv1zudI

He said the questioning is likely being used by foreign governments around the world against the United States.
Um, Mitt? You’re on CNN, which spread the lie for four years about Russia collusion. The Democrats you trust spent the last four years calling Trump a Russian agent and declaring him illegitimate, even using Russian disinformation in the effort. Do you not know or care about the effect that might have had in this country, causing such division, but also in the rest of the world, with our enemies?
I find it hard to believe he could miss how Biden’s Secretary of State was treated in Alaska by China, referencing BLM lies which Democrats have endorsed. Or how how world leaders laughed at us at the G-7 because of the embarrassing actions of Joe Biden . He’s upset with audits? Where was he with all the lies for the past four years? Romney was in the pocket of the Democrats.
