Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has been pointing out all the issues with the Democrats’ impeachment effort against President Donald Trump.
There are a lot of issues. The president no longer being in office and the questionable constitutionality of proceeding against him for the political gain of blocking him from running again in 2024, using taxpayers’ time and money, not to mention the not presenting any evidence in the House or permitting the president to defend himself. Not to mention the basic factual problem they allege incitement by speech for actions the FBI has indicated were likely preplanned and Trump’s rally speech included “act peacefully and patriotically.”
Paul attacked the nebulous and problematic issue of trying to go after someone based on speech.
“If we’re going to criminalize speech, and somehow impeach everybody who says, ‘Go fight to hear your voices heard,’ I mean really we ought to impeach Chuck Schumer then,” Paul told “Fox News Sunday.” “He went to the Supreme Court, stood in front of the Supreme Court and said specifically, ‘Hey Gorsuch, Hey Kavanaugh, you’ve unleashed a whirlwind. And you’re going to pay the price.'”
Schumer also said “You wouldn’t know what what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” He’s literally threatening sitting members of the Supreme Court to influence their decisions.
Democrat leader Chuck Schumer outside the Supreme Court:
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price."

Let’s remind everyone of what it looked like when Democrats whipped up the mob over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh Remember these folks were threatening GOP members of Congress, even accosting them and harassing them in the halls of the Capitol and sending threatening letters with white powder to Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). They were also threatening the Supreme Court nominee and his family. Democrats encouraged the anger and whipped people up even more, even as the mob tried to bang down the door of the Supreme Court and get at Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Notice how the media doesn’t condemn it, even seems to support the insanity of it.
Here’s the mob chanting conspiracy theories at “Moscow Mitch,” speaking of conspiracy theories fueling mobs. Yes, Nancy Pelosi, your members helped fuel this against a fellow member of Congress for political reasons.
Anti-Kavanaugh protesters migrated from outside the Supreme Court to what they believed was the home of @SenateMajLdr Mitch McConnell where some protesters proceeded to vandalize the door.
"Hey, hey, ho, ho Moscow Mitch has got to go," they chanted.https://t.co/t5uwvQj6mi pic.twitter.com/v8YwNHyqWc

Democrats even had disruptions from riotous protesters in the hearing chamber.
If they want to talk about inflammatory speech (not to mention actions), there’s far more and boatloads of it from Democrats accompanied by hundreds if not thousands of riots.
Paul also reminded everyone what a “partisan farce” this all was, noting that Chief Justice John Roberts refused to act as the judge in the matter because it no longer involved a sitting president. “Justice Roberts said heck no, I’m not coming across the street because you’re not impeaching the president,” Paul said. “This was a strong signal to all of us that this was going to be a partisan hearing with a Democrat in the chair, who’s already voted for impeachment.” Democrats intend to use Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) the pro tem of the Senate.
