Biden Bans Term 'China Virus,' But Strangely, MSM Is Still Cool Calling Variants by Location Names

The Wuhan coronavirus came from China and the Chinese government was not honest about it, thus helping further the spread throughout the world.

This is why President Donald Trump called it “the China virus” so as to highlight that fact. Also because viruses are often called by their places of origin, as this was initially when it was called “Wuhan coronavirus” by officials and media. The White House noted historically that that was common: “Spanish Flu. West Nile Virus. Zika. Ebola. All named for places. Before the media’s fake outrage, even CNN called it ‘Chinese Coronavirus,’” the White House tweeted.

But Democrats, for some reason, have always wanted to paper over that fact, to not place blame on China as well as the WHO for the untruths that may have inhibited response to the virus.

Now Joe Biden is making extra sure that there is no reference to Chinese government in the name of the virus in any government reference. He essentially banned “China virus” from use in his executive order, “Memorandum Condemning and Combating Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance Against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States” where it says in pertinent part:

The Federal Government must recognize that it has played a role in furthering these xenophobic sentiments through the actions of political leaders, including references to the COVID-19 pandemic by the geographic location of its origin. Such statements have stoked unfounded fears and perpetuated stigma about Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and have contributed to increasing rates of bullying, harassment, and hate crimes against AAPI persons. These actions defied the best practices and guidelines of public health officials and have caused significant harm to AAPI families and communities that must be addressed.

Everyone should rightly condemn any discriminatory actions against Asian Americans.

But placing blame properly on the government of China or calling the virus by its location of origin is not “xenophobic” or whatever nonsense the Biden team want to claim it is. Naming by location of origin has happened for a millennia. There is no evidence that stating the obvious location of origin increased discrimination as Biden seems to imply. Indeed recognizing what the government did is in fact recognizing the brave Chinese people who gave their lives to let us know what was happening and to tell us what their government was doing. If calling out the government was inherently xenophobic you would never be able to criticize China for anything. Perhaps that’s what Joe Biden is after?

By trying to paint any reference to the Chinese government as somehow xenophobic, Biden and the Democrats have neatly avoided any responsibility to call the Chinese government out for what they did. The Democrats have also not held The WHO to account for telling the world on Jan. 14, that there had been no evidence of human to human transmission as of that point when indeed, there had been. They re-upped the relationship with the WHO which President Donald Trump had suspended without ever holding them accountable or asking if this same thing would happen in the future because of their closeness to the Chinese government.

Meanwhile with such cover, China is busy trying to resell the idea of where the virus actually originated, trying to suggest it could have originated somewhere else, including the U.S., in order to hit back at the U.S. criticisms. American mainstream media while naming variants strains by location but still refusing to call the original strain from China by its location.

Oh. So China gets a pass. Hmm, wonder why?

But facts matter and you can’t paper them over, no matter how hard you try. Plus what does any of this do to help deal with the pandemic?
