Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was running fast and free with with the hyperbole when she appeared on ABC with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday, attacking Republicans over the Capitol protest and demanding “accountability.”
AOC IS COMPLETELY INSANE. 😡

“And so, if we allow insurrection against the United States with impunity, with no accountability, we are inviting it to happen again,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We came close to nearly half of the House dying on Wednesday.”
She also then later made a misleading comment about the number about police deaths in relation to the protest. “Five people died and we just learned another officer lost his life,” she claimed.
Wow. Does she ever consider how hypocritical she really is?
First, only one officer has died, he died after he returned to his office and may have died as a result of an underlying medical condition. The story that he was hit with a fire extinguisher was reported as “fact” but was not confirmed. Another officer committed suicide, so he did not “lose his life” from the protest.
Second, no, nearly half of Congress didn’t come close to dying, no members died, nor were any actually even personally attacked.
Third, AOC has spent the last several months championing the demonization of police and the riots against them. She’s said nothing against the BLM/Antifa insurrection against federal buildings in places like Portland, or the call for “no USA at all.” Now she wants to act like she cares about police and “insurrections?”
She wants to condemn and expel folks like Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) or Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for raising objections to the electoral count. But that’s their constitutional right and duty. Democrats did it against the last three Republican presidents and no one saw that as “insurrection.” None of the Republicans have endorsed the violence at the Capitol, they’ve all condemned it.
She wants to impeach President Donald Trump. But Trump never called for violence and indeed called for people to demonstrate peacefully and patriotically.
Meanwhile what about her own language and action and that of Democrats about the BLM/Antifa insurrection riots of the summer? Democrats embraced the BLM without reservation, Kamala Harris and 13 Biden staffers actually donated to a bail fund for rioters. They have refused to condemn specifically the groups behind it, indeed they pretended it was “peaceful” for months and it has continued on. So where is the accountability there?
Should we point to the times that Democrats have incited or encouraged violence against the right? Or called for uprisings in the street? When a Bernie Bro shot up the congressional baseball practice shooting, shooting at members, police, wounding people and nearly killing Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), he was yelling “This is for healthcare,” ‘incited’ by the Democrats inflammatory rhetoric claiming Republicans wanted to push Grandma off a cliff. Other Republicans were also attacked in that period as well.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) literally called for “pushing back” against Trump officials if you saw them in the street. Then there was in fact harassment of Trump officials, supporters and Republican politicians in the street and at restaurants.
Where is the “accountability” for that?
What about the Democrats agitating against the legitimacy of President Donald Trump’s election and riots against his inauguration? Should we hold all those Democrats to account?
Even AOC herself, as I said, has demonized both Republicans and police. She called ICE facilities “concentration camps.” Then a far left Antifa guy tried to firebomb an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington using the inflammatory language of AOC and her Squad in his manifesto. Where is the accountability for that?
The bottom line is the Republican Congressional members language has been very temperate and within bounds, while Democrats have been inflammatory for years. So if we’re talking about accountability, they have a tremendous amount to answer for, including for the violence still ongoing from radical leftists.
