De Blasio Has Come Up With a Plan for Kids Not Allowed Back In School and It's a Doozy

The craziness surrounding whether to send kids back to school in the fall has been something else.

This despite the fact that the science seems to be indicating that kids both rarely get the Wuhan coronavirus and rarely transmit it, as we reported.

But perhaps the worst reaction, once again, has to be NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio.

De Blasio is claiming that going back to school full time isn’t safe, so students will be having part time schedules in the fall, only going back one to three days a week. Ok, fair enough, what’s his solution? What’s going to happen with the kids who aren’t in school? You’re going to love this one.

As Twitchy caught, the mayor is arranging for childcare to be provided in community centers and libraries, with other kids and adult supervision.

And the difference between this and school is? If they can do that for 100,000 kids, why can’t they have them go back to school?

Apparently the virus can’t find the kids if they go to community centers instead of the school. This solution actually makes it worse, because then the kids are likely mixing with different kids then they are during the rest of the week at school.

While they’re at it, how about teaching them things when they’re in these “non-schools?”

This just shows how political the subject of sending kids to school has become because this response by de Blasio makes no sense.

While schools have been trying to use virtual learning to plug the gap, it has significant problems, as a stunning statistic in Philadelphia shows.

How does that even happen and who was checking?

Meanwhile other countries have already figured out that not sending kids back or doing hybrid things isn’t working.

If this isn’t a screaming advertisement to send kids to private schools or home school, I don’t know what is. The virus has been going on for months now, they’ve had a lot of time to work towards opening up or providing for the fall, how could they have such an inept reaction? Meanwhile New York City parents still don’t know if they will get a slot for their kids in this “community center childcare” alternative, which will only cover 100,000, leaving many out in the cold.
