It seems everyone is concerned about the killing of George Floyd and wants there to be justice in the case.
President Donald Trump even weighed in and said that the FBI and the DOJ would be looking at the case and he tweeted support for Floyd’s family.
But how does rioting, looting and setting fire to innocent stores help the situation?
Some on the left have argued that “rioting” is some kind of legitimate form of protest.
How? Rioters just removed those stores from the neighborhood, stores that helped serve people’s needs and employed local people. Great job especially during a pandemic when things are already hard enough. Why would anyone want to reopen, even if they could after that?
But I’d have to say that NBC truly had the take that was perhaps most through the looking glass.
NBC reported they would not be describing this as “riots” but protests.
This will guide our reporting in MN. “While the situation on the ground in Minneapolis is fluid, and there has been violence, it is most accurate at this time to describe what is happening there as "protests"–not riots.”

“While the situation on the ground in Minneapolis is fluid, and there has been violence, it is most accurate at this time to describe what is happening there as ‘protests’–not riots,” NBC host Craig Melvin tweeted on Thursday.
This is after now two days of riots. Excuse me, “protests.” Riots are not riots, left is right, up is down, and we are in Orwellian 1984 changing speech to deny reality.
You consider this just a protest?https://t.co/c9SPseabEH

The red circles on this map indicate buildings around the 3rd precinct that were significantly burned last night. The blue square shows the aprox location from which gunfire erupted at around 3:30am from within the protestors’ ranks pic.twitter.com/ncF4JSocSq

I was told that this building was intended to be low income housing once completed.

Again great job, depriving people who might need it of housing. But that’s not riots, NBC? That’s just protests?
NBC says that the riots are not riots. Those "protests" must have magically caused spontaneous combustion that lit buildings on fire, threw flatscreen TV’s into the hands of innocent "protestors" and caused hands to slam hammers into cash registers. What a wild series of events!

A lot of agitators like the Rev Com folks come in from the outside and they don’t care about the destruction they leave but as one citizen journalist on the scene, C’Monie Scott observed, “This was beyond riot, this was chaos,” and it does nothing to help the Floyd case, just hurts the neighborhood and feeds the people who want division.
