Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) have both announced that they are self-quarantining because they went to CPAC and had some exposure to a person who later was diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

That person is now being treated in New Jersey. The exposure that person had was prior to CPAC. The person is now on the mend, according to American Conservative Union Chair Matt Schlapp. The attendee had no contact with the President or the Vice President who were also at the conference.

Cruz explained that the contact was brief but he was doing so to be cautious.

From ABC:

Cruz said the “interaction consisted of a brief conversation and a handshake” and that he is “not experiencing any symptoms.”

“Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution … I have decided to remain at my home in Texas this week, until a full 14 days have passed since the CPAC interaction,” Cruz said in a statement shared on Twitter.

Cruz also observes that testing isn’t effective until you start having symptoms — an important point — and that Congress has allocated $8.3 billion to address the issue.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) then made a similar statement.

“I was with this individual for an extended period of time, and we shook hands several times,” Gosar said. “We are all asymptomatic and feel great. But we are being proactive and cautious.”

Gosar asked that everyone keep the CPAC attendee who had been affected in their prayers, that his people were in touch with the CDC and the White House and they were “on top of this.”

Now, one might think that the normal response would be to wish them well.

But some just can’t stop.

Of course, this has been debunked multiple times — the President never said that. He said that the lying by Democrats about the administration’s response was a “hoax.” Lies like this were the hoax which some on the left still are pushing.
