Once upon it time it would have been unheard of for a former head of the CIA or the FBI to profess political leanings.
But members of the Obama administration have blown all kinds of norms and conventions from not accepting elections (Hillary Clinton) to making craven political attacks on social media (John Brennan).
Brennan was at it again, apparently broken in the wake of the witness vote by the thought that the effort to get President Donald Trump was about to fail again.
But he didn’t go after Trump this time. He went after Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) for his vote against new witnesses. Alexander, while he said he thought Trump acted inappropriately, also said he didn’t think that it rose to the level of an impeachable offense so that more witnesses was pointless and the Senate should get back to what they were supposed to be doing.
But his tweet is a festival of hypocrisy, irony and stunning lack of self-awareness. Plus, he sounds worried, doesn’t he?
Astounding & disgraceful that a Senator of heretofore strong standing says it is okay for a president to use U.S. taxpayer dollars to extort a foreign government to provide fabricated information on a rival in an upcoming election.
This is a green light to future such activity. https://t.co/UcH7ao1erL

Shall we remind Brennan of his spying on Congress and lying about it? Or how about the fabricated information of the Steele Dossier used against a rival in an upcoming election? Or how U.S. Attorney John Durham is looking into everything and everyone behind the Russia collusion probe and has a few things he wants to ask Brennan, reportedly? Perhaps that explains John’s nervousness?
People had a few things to say to Brennan.
You oughta know – you set that light to green.

I think it is astounding and disgraceful when taxpayer dollars and government resources are used to spy on a duly elected President who's only crime is getting elected. 🧐
