CNN Analyst: Our Journalistic Function Is To 'Police' What Republicans Say

CNN basically is an anti-Trump, anti-Republican arm of the Democratic Party.

But generally, they protest that they “don’t pick a side” while pimping furiously for the Democrats.

On Friday, however, they pretty much admitted that their role was to go after Republicans, in their “journalistic function,” of course.

CNN had a panel talking about impeachment when legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin went off on Republicans.

From Townhall:

“There are not two versions of the facts. There are only facts and the overwhelming majority of the case, of the time yesterday, you had Democrats talking about the actual facts of this investigation and you had Republicans essentially making things up. We have sorta two-sideism and I fall victim to it. But the fact is, the fact is the Republicans were making up facts about when the Ukrainians knew the aid was cut off,” Toobin said. “And, to the extent we can, I think we should try to police that, you know, in our journalistic function.”

The media has a job to act as a watch dog over government officials and to help provide readers and audience members with clarification and additional context that they may or may not be privy to. So-called “news organizations” like CNN, however, continually run with Democratic talking points. They’ve become an extension of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and will do anything in their power to make Republicans look terrible. We’ve seen it time and time again.

If you are actually an objective journalist you wouldn’t be picking a side and you would have “two-sideism,” calling out either side when they needed to be called out. That’s supposed to be the job of journalists. But CNN has failed, miserably, to call out Democrats for doing wrong now, for years, going completely missing on such things as Rep. Adam Schiff’s constant lying to the Democrats being behind the dossier and undermining Trump and the election.

Instead, CNN is virtually always casting Republicans in a negative light, as in the case of the facts around impeachment, despite that the facts are actually support the Republicans’ case not that of the Democrats.

There are no facts supporting that that Trump demanded a quid pro quo, so there’s literally nothing to support the case. The transcript of the Ukraine call supports that and the Ukrainians have also called this out as false, with Zelensky’s top aide saying this week that the Democrats’ allegation in the impeachment report, that Sondland mentioned a quid pro quo to him, was false. And aren’t the Ukrainians the best evidence of when they knew that the aid was being withheld? They said they didn’t know until August. Yet all of these facts seemed to be ignored by CNN.

And then they wonder why their ratings are in the toilet and why no one trusts anything they have to say?
