JD Vance Shares His Thoughts on President Trump's Achievements in First 100 Days, in Exclusive Op-Ed

At the risk of oversaturation, this is another article about the first 100 days of President Donald Trump's second term. However, it's uniquely newsworthy: Vice President JD Vance shared his thoughts on Trump's unprecedented start in an exclusive op-ed published on Friday by The Washington Post.

"The president and I campaigned on reversing Joe Biden's failures," Vance wrote, "And we're delivering." That they are, at breakneck speed — seemingly against all odds, not all that long ago. Moreover, efforts to obstruct Trump and his initiatives continue on both sides of the aisle.

The most effective vice president, in at least modern history, began:

President Donald Trump has accomplished more in his first 100 days than most administrations accomplish in four years. The bold steps he has taken to end the Biden border crisis, stand up for America’s working class and unleash U.S. energy dominance will forever be remembered as the opening acts of our nation’s Golden Age.

In his first hundred days, President Trump has taken more executive actions than any president before. He has made long overdue reforms to tame the federal bureaucracy. He has assembled a world-class Cabinet and nominated officials to key posts faster than everMost important, the Trump administration is keeping its promises.

Indeed. Let's highlight two things here.

First, former President Joe Biden claimed (incessantly lied, as did congressional Democrats) for nearly four years that he needed congressional legislation to stop the illegal alien invasion that he not only intentionally created; he also all but pledged to place welcoming mariachi bands along the Southern Border and to welcome illegal aliens with open arms if he became president, throughout his pathetic 2020 basement campaign.

But as we now know, President Trump and his "border czar" Tom Homan not only proved Biden's claim to be a bald-faced lie; they did so in the virtual blink of an eye, stopping the influx of illegals dead in its tracks in less than 100 days. As Trump might say, nobody believed it could be done. Yet Trump and Homan believed it — and they made it happen.

Second, Trump's record number of executive actions:

While many, if not most, conservatives argue it's been necessary for Trump to use executive actions to achieve some if not most of his campaign promises due to the slim margins by which Republicans control both chambers of Congress, critics claim the president is continuing to rule by edict — in undemocratic fashion. (See: "constitutional crisis.")

So, which side is right? Perhaps both, to a degree — and not necessarily equally so.

On one hand, yes, Republicans control both the House and the Senate by slim margins. But also yes: several Republican senators (Mitch McConnell (KY), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Susan Collins (ME) often vote with the Democrats against Trump-supported legislation. So sometimes, executive actions are the only way Trump can effectuate his objectives — which are generally the same objectives that led him to victory last November.

On the other hand, given that the president does enjoy majorities in both chambers, and also given his self-professed negotiating prowess to "make deals," some critics argue that the co-author of  "The Art of the Deal" should be able to push legislation through Congress for him to sign into law.

Which "hand" is closer to reality, at least until the 2026 midterm elections? In my opinion, the first hand. Leaders lead —even against odds.

Vance continued, starting with the Biden Border Crisis™.

To end the Biden border crisis, our administration put out a simple message: If you come here illegally, you will be removed. By declaring a national emergency at the border and reinstating “Remain in Mexico” on day one, President Trump made clear he meant business. The results speak for themselves.

In March, the Border Patrol recorded the lowest border crossings ever, down about 95 percent from the 4,488 daily average just one year prior. Since Inauguration Day, the administration has arrested more than 150,000 illegal immigrants and deported more than 139,000Only nine illegal immigrants were released into the United States, nearly all of whom either required medical aid or had been witnesses to a crime. During the same time frame in 2024, Biden released more than 184,000 illegal immigrants throughout the country.

Joe Biden, the Democrat Party, and the sock puppets of the quasi-official Democrat media were unavailable for comment. (sarc.)

Vance also wrote, with indirect respect to Trump's sweeping tariffs, which remain controversial in some quarters:

America can no longer sit by as generation after generation of politicians fails to defend our workers in trade negotiations, preferring instead to rely on cheap, foreign labor — either in offshore factories or through low-paid, migrant workers imported here. President Trump understands this better than anyone, which is why he’s building a more level playing field for America’s labor force.

[...]

Fair, reciprocal trade means more American jobs, especially in manufacturing. This administration’s first full jobs report showed immediate signs of our industrial comeback, with 10,000 new manufacturing jobs added in February alone. And March was among the highest for private-sector growth in the past two years, adding almost 100,000 more jobs than economists predicted.

[...]

By building a level playing field for American industry, this administration is once again making America the economic envy of the world. Since taking office, President Trump has welcomed well over $5 trillion in announced investments, a historic statement of confidence in his economic leadership that’s expected to create close to half a million new jobs.

The vice president also weighed in on the administration's actions against the Democrats' ridiculous "Green New Deal," which has boiled down to the United States needlessly flushing billions of dollars down the pretend-anthropomorphic climate-change toilet; "national energy crisis," DEI insanity, and on freedom of religion issues.

The vice president ended with this:

As President Trump is fond of saying, the best is yet to come.

Let's hope that's true — regardless of the obstructionist efforts of the Democrat Party.

Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
