Another One Bites the Dust: NBC's Chuck Todd Makes It Official - He's Leaving As Network Seeks Changes

Welp, it's yet another dark day in the world of left-wing "journalism," America.

NBC's Chuck Todd (regularly referred to by the late Rush Limbaugh as "Upchuck Todd") made it official on Friday that he's leaving the troubled network as it continues to seek changes. Todd announced his last day at NBC, his professional home of nearly two decades.

Todd "stepped down" as host of "Meet the Press" (MTP) in 2019. Yet NBC hasn't learned a thing since. MTP is now hosted by Kristen Welker, who is regularly dismantled by guests like Vice President JD Vance and Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton for her blatantly left-wing takes.

Anyway, after Todd's departure from MTP, he became noticeably less visible on the Peacock Network.

As reported by Axios on Friday, Todd's departure comes as NBC News and its even-worse-off sister network, MSNBC, cover a second Trump administration while facing major business and leadership changes. At the top of both outlets' problems, stage-four Trump Derangement Syndrome reigns supreme.

In a Friday memo to staff obtained by Axios, Todd suggested he would pursue several new projects for the next step in his career. Uh-huh.

"Pursue new projects as the next step in my career" is the ridiculous reason other left-wing show hosts have used on the way out the door. As I see it, Carry the Democrat Party's water and push stupid left-wing garbage, win stupid prizes. And Todd has been among the most deserving to win stupid prizes for years.

In his memo, according to Axios, Todd wrote:

At my core, I'm an entrepreneur — I spent my first 15 years professionally working for the company that started the political newsletter craze that dominates today. And this is a ripe moment; the only way to fix this information eco system is to stop whining about the various ways the social media companies are manipulating things and instead roll up our collective sleeves and start with local.

Yeah, just a couple of problems, Chuck.

Fox News continues to dominate what we used to call cable news, often beating the pants off the combined ratings of CNN and MSNBC, both of which peddle the same load of bias you peddled for years.

Moreover, and perhaps even more telltale, Fox's "Gutfeld!" has become the late-night king, beating NBC's "Tonight Show," ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," and CBS's miserable "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." And why is that? Because the foundations of all three shows are also riddled with TDS.

In Todd's best effort to spin his exit, Todd also wrote to staffers:

There’s never a perfect time to leave a place that’s been a professional home for so long, but I’m pretty excited about a few new projects that are on the cusp of going from ‘pie in the sky’ to ‘near reality.’ So I’m grateful for the chance to get a jump start on my next chapter during this important moment.

And we're excited, too, Chuck.

An NBC spokesperson mouthed the usual schtick to Variety:

We’re grateful for Chuck’s many contributions to our political coverage during his nearly two-decade career at NBC News and for his deep commitment to Meet the Press and its enduring legacy. We wish him all the best in his next endeavors.

So adieu, Chuck. NBC won't be the same without you. They hope so, anyway.

Thing is, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and MSNBC will continue to swirl down the toilet as they stubbornly cling to trashing all things Donald Trump and conservative policies.

Let's hope they don't change a thing.
