HOT TAKES: X Users React Including Trump Hilariously to Walz's 'Friends With School Shooters' Gaffe

By most objective accounts, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance delivered a decisive beatdown to Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Walz during Tuesday night's debate. And Walz being Walz, the obviously nervous Minnesota governor delivered several hard shots to himself.

None of Walz's gaffes were more damaging than his "I've been friends with school shooters" disaster.

Predictably, X users -- including former President Donald Trump himself, who we'll get to in a bit -- posted blistering posts to social media. First, here's Walz's faux pas:

I've become friends with school shooters. I've seen it.

Oops.

Look, I assume he meant to say, "I've become friends with victims of school shooters," but Walz being Walz, from his never-ending list of newly uncovered lies to his propensity to say the darnedest things, Kamala Harris' running mate has dug his own hole from the outset.

Let the Hilarity Begin

One X user imagined Kamala's first reaction to her running mate's latest gaffe.

Another user imagined what JD Vance was thinking after Walz's epic faux pas.

Damn, brother. I don't believe I'd have told that.

Interestingly, Walz didn't appear to catch his own gaffe.

This meme maker didn't let the opportunity to torch Walz pass by.

TIM WALZ IS YOUR NEW MISS SPOKE!

Ouch.

I bet that one left a mark.

And the best shot of all came from none other than Trump, with this hilarious post on Truth Social.

TRUMP VANCE '24

*Not friends with school shooters*

Beautylicious.

As even a plurality if not a majority of left-wing media sock puppets admitted that Vance won the debate, leave it to hilarious CNN to spin the dickens out of a Vance win — even before the debate began.

Veteran Democrat and CNN contributor David Axelrod actually predicted that if JD won the debate, he'd not only come across as "predatory" against "innocent" Walz; but also that a win would be bad for Trump-Vance.

You know, they have very different personalities. Vance is, you know, he is a bit predatory on that debate platform and Walz, his strength is his warmth and is his everydayness. It's kind of like a Labrador versus a coyote. And the question is, people root for the Labrador, but can he get enough swipes him to keep the coyote off him?

As one commenter said elsewhere, JD is hardly a coyote; he's a wolf in pursuit of his prey.
