Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. might not be the most effective president to ever grace the Oval Office, but what he has been is one of the most brash. His 2018 claim that he would “beat the hell out of” then-President Donald Trump if they were in high school over his crude comments about women was a perfect example.
"Joey from Scranton" has portrayed himself as a hardnosed scrapper throughout his political career.
So it came as a bit of a surprise on Wednesday when Biden suggested he might not be running for reelection if Trump wasn't seeking a second term. Now, whether he meant it or it was just another example of the 81-year-old president mindlessly speaking off the cuff will likely never be known, but it caught more than a few people on both sides of the political aisle by surprise.
Then, on Thursday, when a reporter asked Biden if he thought there were any Democrats other than himself who could beat Trump, he said, "Probably 50 of them," before adding: "I'm not the only one who can beat him, but I will beat him" — in classic Joey from Scranton style.

So, what's going on here, if anything?
Maybe I'm overspeculating. Then again, maybe I'm not.
It's no secret that the Democrat Party leaders— along with their obedient lapdog media — aren't thrilled by the notion of the addled 81-year-old as their 2024 standard-bearer, much less, as he continues to decline, what the next four years might bring. So here's the question:
Is Joe Biden singing his own swan song?
In other words, is Biden setting the stage for possibly announcing — even if pushed out — that he's not going to seek reelection, after all? I mean, we all know Joe Biden. If he's forced out, he sure as hell will want to make it look like it was his idea. Face-saving, if you will.
Why Might Biden Toss in the Towel?
Biden is quickly reaching the point — if he's not already there — where his toilet-bowl approval ratings are the least of his problems.
As House Republican-led investigations continue to uncover more and more damning evidence that this president has lied through his teeth from the beginning about having no knowledge of his crackhead son Hunter's nefarious overseas business dealing, to say nothing of financially benefitting from them himself, members of his own party are beginning to sound the alarms.
And it's only getting worse.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) has signed off on subpoenas for multiple members of the Biden family, including Hunter Biden and James Biden, as the investigation into the Biden Family Business continues to bear fruit, including evidence of influence peddling — and $240,00 in direct payments to Joe.
In addition, as the House Republican caucus continues its informal impeachment inquiry, the White House continues to stonewall investigations into alleged wrongdoing by the Biden family, frustrating House investigators, and I suspect a growing number of congressional Democrats, as well.
Last Saturday, Speaker Mike Johnson said he'd had enough and that a floor vote on a formal impeachment investigation would be "forthcoming." "It's become a necessary step," Johnson said.
Have Democrat Leaders Had Enough?
As we reported on Monday, subpoenaed bank records show that Hunter Biden's Owasco, P.C. made direct payments to Joe. This presents a yuuge problem for the old man, given that he's steadfastly claimed he's never even talked with Hunter about his business dealings.
Here's Comer detailing Joe's lies.

Hunter Biden’s business entity, Owasco P.C., made DIRECT monthly payments to Joe Biden.

And when Biden was asked about those payments on Wednesday, his response? "It's a bunch of lies." Except it's not.

So, not only do the hits just keep coming; I suspect they're going to be even more damning in the not-too-distant future.
The Bottom Line
At what point does the Democrat Party kick Joe to the curb?
Granted, the ultimate decision would be Biden's, but one would think that the people around him, even including his limelight-loving, pretend-doctor wife, at some point, would say, "Joe. It's time to go."
And Joe being Joe, he'd do his damnedest to make it look like it was his idea all along.
