Democrats and their lapdog media have a long history of standing staunchly behind their own — until they don’t. Disgraced former Minnesota Sen. Al Franken and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo were the most recent casualties. But with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his 2024 presidential candidacy, Democrat long knives have been out from the beginning.
As embattled Joe Biden’s most formidable opponent, RFK Jr. has been fiercely targeted by the pro-Biden media as they continue to fly wingman for an 80-year-old man who doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going, repeats multitudinous discredited lies, and who 70 percent of Americans — including 51 percent of Democrats — don’t want to see anywhere near the White House after Inauguration Day 2025.
Nonetheless, RFK Jr. must suffer the same fate as all who get in the way of the Democrat Party mission and its narratives: he must be discredited, marginalized, and ultimately destroyed, if necessary. In other words, the left’s treatment of Kennedy is not dissimilar to its treatment of Donald Trump.
Kennedy is pushing back and he’s telling it exactly like it is.
Kennedy told SiriusXM’s The Briefing with Steve Scully that the pro-Biden media is “frantic” with fear that he’ll rise enough in the polls to threaten Biden’s nomination, which wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s not driven out of the race, given a failed Democrat president whose problems are many — from multiple intentionally-caused crises to the Biden Family Business scandal to disastrous approval ratings to his obviously declining mental state.
Kennedy told Scully the concerted effort to discredit him is “frantic.”
There seems to be an almost frantic need to discredit me, to marginalize me, to vilify me. People are reduced to name-calling and to outright invention. I — you know, I read some of these articles, and they’re just a string of distortions and of outright deceptions.
Pro-Biden Democrats have a reason to be frantic. According to a new poll by The Economist and YouGov, Kennedy has higher favorability numbers than either President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump, even as Biden maintains a double-digit lead over Kennedy in the Democrat nomination race.
Kennedy urged voters to learn about his candidacy and conviction elsewhere— other than from the “mainstream” media sock puppets.
There is not a charitable view toward me in the mainstream media. The only thing I would say is that I would urge people not to believe the things that they’re reading about me in the mainstream media, but, you know, listen to my own words and not accept the characterizations as necessarily true.
Should we tell him?
Sadly, in 21st-century America, once voters align with a candidate, facts tend to give way to opinions and baked-in predisposed political biases. To deny that fact exists — in both parties — is to deny reality.
As the late author Stuart Chase astutely observed: “For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe, no proof is possible.”
Among Kennedy’s top goals, he said, is to win the New Hampshire primary, then build on the early win for a national victory.
We have a 50-state strategy. We’re putting organizations together right now in all 50 states. I’m in Vermont today, and I’m meeting with the leadership of our state committee in this state, and we’re doing that all around the country. So we plan to fight on the ground in every state in this country to get the Democratic nomination.
As we also reported on Thursday, Biden’s problems continue to mount:
Think Biden’s Approval Ratings Suck? Embattled President’s Fundraising Events Are Total Disasters
Meanwhile, in Republican presidential candidate news, Ron DeSantis was asked on Thursday morning if he’ll support Donald Trump, given the former president’s obsessive trashing of the Florida governor, leading DeSantis to take the gloves off.
The Bottom Line:
2024 Presidential politics in America. Who’d a thunk it?
