Report: Chinese Companies Exploiting Democrats' 'Green Energy' Goals to Ensure U.S. Reliance on China

In this episode of China’s Not Gonna Eat Our Lunch, Man…

“Subnational incursions are afoot — China is on the hunt,” warn two former U.S. ambassadors, as Joe Biden and the Democrats continue to push unachievable “green energy” goals on America. Former U.S. Ambassadors Peter Hoekstra and Joseph Cella said Chinese companies, which are subject to strict Chinese laws, have made a concerted effort to take advantage of U.S. green energy goals.

This report should come as zero surprise to those who’ve paid attention to the “climate change” madness.

From Biden’s ridiculous, ill-informed goals to lunatic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s insane law that will ban the sale of new passenger vehicles in the no-longer-Golden State beginning in 2035, despite warnings from experts that the state’s energy grids will be incapable of providing the amount of electricity needed to power an expected onslaught of EVs (electric vehicles).

Meanwhile, China — the world’s largest carbon polluter, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released into the atmosphere in 2020 (compared to the United States, with 5,416 million tons of CO2) — is exploiting American tax incentives, as reported by Fox News, to build facilities and projects in the U.S., bolstering Chinese industry and ensuring continued U.S. reliance on technology from China.

Hoekstra, who served as U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands from 2018 until 2021, told Fox News Digital:

It’d be very ironic if we moved towards electric vehicles to the numbers that the Biden administration is talking about and the key component comes from China. That is a terrible, terrible place to be.

Right now electric vehicle sales are about 3 to 5% of new automobile sales. Now is the time for the U.S. to establish its own capabilities rather than increasing reliance on an unreliable and a threatening adversary.

“Ironic” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

From Biden’s idiotic claim during the 2020 election campaign that “China’s not gonna eat our lunch,” to the most inept president in American history pathetically allowing a Chinese spy balloon to fly unfettered across the entire continental U.S. — and at least once, stopping for figure-8s above a sensitive target — while sending real-time data back the ChiComs, Biden remains a clear and present danger to this country.

The bottom line: China’s dominance throughout the green energy supply chain, from developing critical mineral mines in Africa to building battery components, clearly demonstrates the ChiComs’ intentionality that is “very perilous not only for our national security but our economic security and prosperity as well,” added Hoekstra.

Here’s more, via Fox News:

Earlier this year, Hoekstra, who also previously chaired the House Intelligence Committee, established the Michigan-China Economic and Security Review Group, a watchdog group devoted to reviewing Chinese economic investments across the country with a particular focus on Michigan.

Together, Hoekstra and Cella have specifically called attention to two EV battery plant projects proposed for Michigan. The first, slated for Big Rapids, Michigan, involves the Hefei, China-based Gotion High-Tech while the second, proposed for Marshall, Michigan, involves the Ningde, China-based Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL).

“Subnational incursions are afoot,” Cella told Fox Digital, adding:

China is on the hunt. The Chinese Communist Party is on the hunt. They are looking for these open doors to kick in, in states. And they have carried great sway. You just need to look at Gotion or CATL — textbook examples of this influence operation.

Enter, Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan’s Disastrous Democrat Governor

In October, according to Fox, Whitmer announced that Chinese-owned Gotion would invest $2.4 billion to construct two 550,000-square-foot production plants along with other supporting facilities spanning 260 acres in northern Michigan. She applauded the proposal, saying it would shore up Michigan’s status as the” global hub of mobility and electrification.” (See: MORON.)

Just one problem.

Republican lawmakers and local leaders have increased scrutiny of Gotion’s proposal, pointing to its Chinese ownership and ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The corporate bylaws of Gotion High-Tech, whose California-based subsidiary Gotion proposed the Michigan plant, require the company to “carry out Party activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Communist Party of China.”

Let’s re-read that last line, shall we? Gotion is required to carry out Party activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Communist Party of China. What could possibly go wrong? And not in Michigan, only.

Following a local outcry about a ChiCom-affiliated company building a factory in the Grand Rapids community, Gotion put its plans on hold in February. Still, Chuck Thelen, Gotion’s vice president of North American operations, appeared to mock the community: “There is no communist plot within Gotion to make Big Rapids a center to spread communism.” Again, moronic — the disingenuous clown intentionally missed the entire point of the concern.

The Fox News article covers several relative Chinese projects underway in the U.S.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration in late March proposed a series of rules on how it would implement stricter EV tax credit provisions contained in the so-called 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. [ROFL emoji]. Under the provisions, consumers will only be able to receive tax credits for EVs that are manufactured with a certain amount of critical minerals and components from the U.S. or nations with which the U.S. has a free trade agreement.

Let’s think that one through — for a nanosecond.

While the U.S. and China signed a historic and “enforceable” agreement on a Phase One trade deal on January 15, 2020, the communist nation has long been known to cheat, lie, or otherwise ignore such agreements. Additionally, China’s known theft of U.S. technology and intellectual property is legendary. Hell, it shouldn’t even take Joe Biden to understand Beijing’s behavior relative to international trade.
