Let’s just cut to the chase. Embattled CNN — AKA: The Most Trusted Name in News™ — can fire all the liberal lapdogs like Brian Stelter it wants but as long as it keeps running unadulterated crap like this, it will remain in the ratings toilet until it ultimately gasps for its last miserable politically correct breath.

Now, the rest of the predictable story.

During a segment on monkeypox on Monday’s New Day, CNN national correspondent Dianne Gallagher argued, despite tons of facts and scientific evidence to the contrary, that “monkeypox is NOT a sexually-transmitted infection.” No, really — read on.

Host John Berman, who always looks like a deer in the headlights, kicked off the monkeypox festivities:

This morning, new action to try to slow the rising case count of monkeypox. Over the weekend, the White House began its pilot program, sending 50,000 doses of the monkeypox vaccine to LGBTQ events nationwide. Dianne Gallagher is in Charlotte, North Carolina, this morning, which held Pride events throughout the weekend. What did you see there, Dianne?

Gallagher’s response started off factually…

Hey, you know, John, the Pride festival ended this morning here in Charlotte, but it is only the beginning of the Biden administration’s efforts to accelerate the monkeypox vaccine and the federal response to the outbreak. […]

The North Carolina city’ Pride festival is the launch site of a Biden pilot program to send 50,000 doses of the monkeypox vaccine to LGBTQ-centered events, like Pride, around the country.

…before quickly collapsing in a pile of politically correct, science-ignoring, narrative-driven crap:

[M]en who have sex with men, and transgender people, do make up the majority of monkeypox cases right now, which is why they’re being prioritized with the limited vaccine supply.

However, monkeypox is not a sexually-transmitted infection, and any person can get it from prolonged, close, typically skin-to-skin contact with an infected person, so if the Biden administration wants its outreach to be a success, celebrating, while educating, without discriminating, is the only way to approach it.

Where does one begin to point out the “misstatements” (bald-faced lies)?

Let’s take a little trip to a faraway land (from the so-called “mainstream” media)… a  land known as The Mysterious Land of Facts, shall we?

In an article published by Scientific American on August 18, titled, Monkeypox Is a Sexually Transmitted Infection, and Knowing That Can Help Protect People, with the subhead, In the U.S., Black and Latino men who have sex with men are most vulnerable to monkeypox, we learn:

As data come in from around the world, a clear picture is emerging of who is being affected by the recent outbreak of monkeypox (MPX): Outside Africa, 99 percent of the cases have been in men, and 92 to 98 percent have been in self-identified men who have sex with men.

Also, many of the cases in the Europe Union, the U.S. and the U.K. have been in men who are living with HIV.

In the U.S., MPX is overwhelmingly affecting Black and Latino men who have sex with men. If this dynamic is not corrected, this racial disparity will grow worse, as my research has shown has happened with HIV.

]I]t’s important to understand how infections move sexually to research how they work and to prevent transmission whenever possible.

Moreover? As noted by NewsBusters, the article’s author, Steven Thrasher is not exactly “some homophobic, conservative, white man.”

To the contrary, he is a biracial gay man who is a chaired professor of “social justice” and a past winner of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Journalist of the Year award.

Perhaps most notable was Thrasher’s warning that by “not naming, researching, preventing and addressing how transmission is happening,” people will be kept “from understanding how to prevent infection, allow unnecessary worry, and exacerbate racist and homophobic social determinants of health.”

In other words, matters could be worse if there’s a refusal to admit how it’s been primarily spread.

The bottom line:

While I realize Steven Thrasher and Scientific American aren’t nearly as qualified to disseminate facts about monkeypox as CNN’s world-renowned infectious diseases expert Dianne Gallagher [sarcasm matters] this little episode is just one of many in which liberal media sock puppets get too far out over their skis — intentionally so — in the holy name of whatever left-wing narrative they’re presently lying about.
