Marjorie Taylor Greene's Soap Opera Continues as She Seeks Restraining Order Against Democrat Staffer

Random: While not a particularly popular position with many on our side of the aisle, I am not a fan of Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, nor am I a fan of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) or Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), but I digress. Ah, what the hell — just a bit more.

In the twin cases of Greene and Boebert, it’s their constant need for attention, dutifully provided by constant fangirling. Such was the case — in my not-so-humble opinion — when Greene on Tuesday night said she has decided to seek a restraining order against a House Democrat staffer, as reported by Just the News.

As reported by my RedState colleague Jennifer Oliver O’Connell, the staffer was captured on security cameras defacing posters outside Greene’s Washington office.

Greene told Just the News she felt like she had no choice but to seek the protective order against Timothy Hysom, the chief of staff to Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Jake Auchincloss, after the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington declined a police request to issue an arrest warrant and charge the staffer.

Nancy Pelosi and Democrat leadership don’t believe in protecting me. So I have no other choice but to do whatever I can do to protect myself and protect my staff.

However, Auchincloss spokesman Matt Corridoni told Just the News that Hysom has never threatened Greene or her or her staff and has no intentions of doing so.

Tim has never had direct contact with the congresswoman, nor does he plan to in the future. The order is unnecessary and nothing more than political theater.

Yet Greene claims Hysom has “continued to attack [her] for months.”

I didn’t even know who this person was that [sic] was continuing to attack me for months and months. And all I know is he refuses to apologize, He’s doubled down on what he has done.

Apology or not, Greene wants Hysom prosecuted, which is apparently not going to happen.

The Department of Justice refuses to prosecute Tim Hysom, Jake Auchincloss’s chief of staff, even though he’s been caught by Capitol Police, he’s on camera on video twice, attacking the sign, attacking my religion, attacking my gender, and attacking my beliefs on protecting gender and also the beliefs of my district.

And so they refuse to prosecute him. Nancy Pelosi will not provide me with [a] secure security detail, even though they provide themselves with a security detail.

I get it. I also get it that that’s what the Democrat Party does. To all Republicans. It’s called Democrat Politics. Then again, Greene has done her share of name-calling and hurling of charges against the left, as well, which I avidly support. Again, it’s called politics. What did Harry Truman say? You know, the thing about the heat in the kitchen? Yeah, that.

While I could not be more diametrically opposed to everything the Democrat Party supports and stands for, am fully cognizant of the depth of the left’s hypocrisy, and am skeptical as hell about everything Democrats do or say, I’m in on the “political theater” charge. Does Greene honestly fear for her personal safety and that of her staff from an irrelevant Democrat staffer who slapped up a couple of stickers outside her office?

Nonsense — I call B.S. on that one.

On Monday, Corridoni confirmed that Hysom had affixed stickers to posters outside Greene’s office that declared there are just two genders, male and female, because he felt the poster’s messages were “bullying.”

The spokesman said he did not believe Hysom’s actions violated any laws and that the request to prosecutors to file charges in an arrest warrant was “ridiculous.”

“I didn’t even know who this person was that was continuing to attack me for months and months,” Greene said. “And all I know is he refuses to apologize. He’s doubled down on what he has done.”

According to Just the News, Greene said her concerns have been exacerbated by the “fact” that she has received roughly 60 death threats in 2022 but has been turned down by Pelosi’s Democrat leadership for a personal security detail.

The Democrats have their ever-self-aggrandizing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who cannot get enough attention regardless of how hard she tries —and damn, she sure does try. And the Republicans?

Let’s just leave it here, for now.
