Despicable: School Board Cancels Event With ISIS Sex Slave Survivor Over Fear of Offending Muslims

(360 kilometers)

If it’s not one thing with the left, it’s another. Liberals ruin everything they touch. Often, despicably so.

Whether it’s “moderate” liberals standing with the radical left in support of Marxist-derived critical race theory to the point of opposing the rights of parents to have a say in the education of their children, or canceling a book club event with a Nobel Prize winner who was forced into sexual slavery at age 14 after her parents were murdered by the brutal Islamist terrorist organization, ISIS — because the school board, in its infinite wisdom, didn’t want to… wait for it… foster Islamophobia, this is today’s virulent left.

And they don’t give a damn if you like it or not. Below is despicable proof of that.

The largest school board in Canada, as reported by Washington Examiner, has reportedly banned students from attending a book club event with ISIS survivor Nadia Murad, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who not only survived being kidnapped by the Islamic State as a teenager and forced into sex slavery, she wrote a book about what for many people would be traumatic, unspeakable horrors, including rape and torture:

The Last Girl: My Story of Captivity, and My Fight Against the Islamic State

Per the Amazon promo:

Nadia Murad was born and raised in Kocho, a small village of farmers and shepherds in northern Iraq. A member of the Yazidi community, she and her brothers and sisters lived a quiet life. Nadia had dreams of becoming a history teacher or opening her own beauty salon. On August 15th, 2014, this life ended.

Islamic State militants massacred the people of her village, executing men who refused to convert to Islam and women too old to become sex slaves. Six of Nadia’s brothers were killed, and her mother soon after, their bodies swept into mass graves. Nadia was taken to Mosul and forced, along with thousands of other Yazidi girls, into the ISIS slave trade.

Nadia would be held captive by several militants and repeatedly raped and beaten. Finally, she managed a narrow escape through the streets of Mosul, finding shelter in the home of a Sunni Muslim family whose eldest son risked his life to smuggle her to safety.

The fact that this beyond-brave young woman willingly and publicly shares her story, in part so the world can continue to learn about the atrocities of Islamist extremism from someone who experienced the nightmare first-hand is incredible, is it not?

Imagine, then, the decision by a “progressive,” know-it-all school board to deny an opportunity for students to learn, first-hand, the reality of radical Islamism. Oh, wait — mustn’t offend “the Muslims.”

News flash: Nadia is a Muslim.

Nadia was scheduled to participate in a book club event with students from the Toronto District School Board in February 2022 upon the release of her book, as reported by The Telegraph. However, board superintendent Helen Fisher decided students would not be allowed to attend the event, citing concerns that Murad’s book would offend students and “foster Islamophobia.”

Hold the bus, Helen.

“Offend other students”? How, and which ones? Are we talking “offended by what happened to Nadia,” or are we talking “offended by Nadia telling students about who did it to her“? I’m gonna go with “B.”

Fisher’s ridiculous decision faced heavy backlash among students, parents, and the community as a whole. So what do liberals do when they find themselves intentionally up the proverbial creek without a paddle?

They lie.

The board issued a statement in which they said they wanted to “clarify” [ROFL emoji] their position.

Check it out, via Daily Mail:

An opinion that did not reflect the position of the Toronto District School Board was shared with the organiser of the book club prior to staff having an opportunity to read the books, something that is routinely done before giving them to students.

We sincerely apologize [nonsense, this was a lay-up] to Ms. Murad who has powerful stories to tell and from whom we believe students would learn a great deal.

Oh, please. As I’m wont to say in situations like this, what a complete crock of crap.

The person who “shared that opinion” with the organizer of the book club was no doubt Helen Fisher. And now these clowns say they didn’t have the opportunity to actually read the book — which the board admits is routine — so what do they do? “Apologize.” Nonsense. They got caught.

Surprisingly, they learned, not even Canada was (yet) willing to put up with this left-wing crap, much less kowtow in deference to horrific Islamist extremism, so they backpedaled their butts off and lied.
