Mayorkas' Latest Order Protecting Illegal Aliens From ICE Is Infuriating

I suggested throughout Joe Biden’s pathetic presidential campaign that he might as well install northbound ‘people movers’ across the Rio Grande and hire mariachi bands to welcome illegal aliens to America.

Now that Biden is president and the Biden Border Crisis continues unabated, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is working his ass off protecting illegals already here — as well as the untold tens of thousands that continue to arrive. As reported by NPR, Customs Enforcement agents will no longer conduct mass raids on workplaces where illegal aliens are employed, due to a new order from Mayorkas.

It gets “better.” As Mayorkas sees it, the problem isn’t illegal aliens, it’s “exploitive employers” who hire them. Thing is, if there were no illegal aliens to hire, so-called exploitative employers couldn’t hire them.

In a memorandum released Tuesday, Mayorkas said:

Under the previous administration [of course; it’s Trump’s fault], these resource-intensive operations resulted in the simultaneous arrest of hundreds of workers. [While the raids attracted attention and made headlines], they were used as a tool by exploitative employers to suppress and retaliate against workers’ assertion of labor laws.

As NPR noted, the DHS announcement is part of the Biden administration’s shift in strategy that puts the emphasis on businesses and employers that violate labor laws — versus illegal aliens, themselves. In addition to halting mass raids, the order supports the idea of exercising prosecutorial discretion to spare workers, pointed out NPR, from charges if they witness or are the victims of abuse or exploitation in the workplace.

Mayorkas said in a news release about the change in strategy:

“The Department of Homeland Security has a critical role to ensure our Nation’s workplaces comply with our laws. We will not tolerate unscrupulous employers who exploit unauthorized workers, conduct illegal activities, or impose unsafe working conditions.

“Employers engaged in illegal acts compel the focus of our enforcement resources.  By adopting policies that focus on the most unscrupulous employers, we will protect workers as well as legitimate American businesses.”

The selectivity is incredulous — hypocritical and oxymoronic as hell, isn’t it? “Illegal acts.” “Unscrupulous.” Attacking “legitimate businesses” while protecting “illegitimate” illegal aliens.

The DHS news release also reiterated “an end to mass worksite enforcement operations.”

The smug Mayorkas, as is the case with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, is, like Biden himself, an elitist know-it-all who always considers himself the smartest guy in the room. Hypocritical as hell, of course — every one of the above is — while blatantly transparent, as well.
