DHS Chief's Explanation of Why Border Crisis Is 'Trump's Fault' Is Most ROTFL One Yet

Townhall Media/Julio Rosas

By now, we are fully aware that the Biden Border Crisis™ is actually Donald Trump’s fault. While multiple facts proving Trump’s culpability have been eagerly provided by the Biden administration, the Democrat Party, and the lapdog liberal media, the latest undeniable fact comes directly from none other than Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

According to Mayorkas, the border crisis would not have occurred if Trump had not “dismantled the entire immigration system.” Nope, not from The Babylon Bee.

Mayorkas’s allegations are completely logical, of course, because who doesn’t know how much Trump wanted illegal aliens to stream across the border? [YUUGE rolling-eyes emoji]

During a Sunday appearance on CNN, the DHS honcho told the ever-intrepid Dana Bash that, were it not for Trump, everything would be just peachy on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Oh, and Mayorkas said Biden & Co. will not “abandon their values and principles.” Those “values and principles” include purposely creating a border crisis — as viewed by rational people; Democrats see it as a means to an end — solely for the purpose of importing as many (what they view as) future Democrat voters as possible.

“We will not abandon our values and our principles. We will not abandon the needs of young children. That’s what this is all about. We are executing on our plan. It does take time. It is difficult.

“Our plan includes the deployment of the Federal Emergency Management Administration, FEMA, to assist HHS in building its capacity more rapidly to shelter the children.

“But it is taking time, and it is difficult because the entire system was dismantled by the prior administration. There was a system in place in the Republican and Democratic administrations that was torn down during the Trump administration. That is why the challenge is more acute than it ever has been before.”

What a complete crock of Democrat crap.

Mayorkas has been singing the same silly song for at least a week.

“The prior administration completely dismantled the asylum system. The system was gutted, facilities were closed, and they cruelly expelled young children into the hands of traffickers.”

So that hasn’t aged well at all, has it?

Even Dana Bash at least appeared to see through Mayorkas’s nonsensical claims, having set up his response with a few facts.

“The Biden administration, though, is, as you mentioned, now allowing unaccompanied children into the U.S., different from the Trump administration.

“Clearly, you don’t have the infrastructure to handle this many children right now.

“As I mentioned, more than 600 children have been in Border Protection custody for more than ten days, far longer than is acceptable and allowed by law. That’s three days.

“So, did you change the policy too quickly without having the infrastructure in place to take care of these children?”

Also on Sunday, this somewhat-surprising effort from ABC’s Martha Raddatz.

“ABC Raddatz fact checks DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: the Biden administration was warned of crisis, migrants cite Biden’s policy changes.”

Translation: Despite your smugness, chief, you’re full of crap, and your cup runneth over.

Finally, Mayorkas appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” where usually Democrat-water-carrying Chris Wallace at least pretended to take the DHS secretary to task over the Biden administration’s media blackout on the border crisis, despite Biden’s “transparency” pledge.

“Shockingly,” dude’s response was just as pathetic as everything else he said on Sunday.

I’ve thought a bit in recent weeks about what has most likely been a post-inaugural shock to Team Biden over some of the treatment by the media — beyond Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy, I mean. From “Mensa member” Circle-Back Psaki to others.

You know this is not what they expected.

On the contrary, they expected to be coddled by left-wing media sock puppets, exactly as Basement Biden was coddled throughout his pathetic campaign.

While nowhere near the TDS-riddled treatment of Donald Trump — and it will never come even close — it does bring a smile of minimal satisfaction to my face from time to time.
