New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will long be remembered in the annals of New York COVID-19 history for having forced nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients, undoubtedly resulting in many more deaths than the 7.6 thousand the state has officially attributed to-date, which does not include patients who left nursing facilities and later died in hospitals.

Toss in Cuomo’s self-serving, nearly as obscene book, “American Crisis: Lessons from the COVID-19 Crisis,” and you get an accurate sense of the true character of a man whose lofty ego is only eclipsed by his self-centeredness and complete lack of self-awareness.

So what’s Cuomo up to, now, you’re almost afraid to ask?

As states across the country continue to roll out COVID vaccines to their respective residents — one presumes based first on potential risks to various groups — Cuomo revealed on Monday that recovering addicts in residential rehab facilities will be among the first New Yorkers to receive the vaccine, beginning this week.

During a virtual news conference on Monday, as reported by The New York Post, Cuomo said the state was expecting to receive a combined 259,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines.

In addition to urgent care center employees and “individuals who are administering the COVID-19 vaccines, for obvious reasons,” Cuomo said that shots would be given to residents of “OASAS” — the state Office of Addiction Services and Supports.

OASAS runs 12 treatment centers across the state, with five located in or around New York City, and also certifies and monitors “hundreds” of private facilities, according to its website.

As is the case with nursing homes, [rolling-eyes emoji] Cuomo described drug rehab centers as “congregate facilities,” which is why they should —like nursing facilities, governor — receive top priority for the vaccine, he said.

“These are congregate facilities. Congregate facilities are problematic. That’s where you have a lot of people in concentration. Nursing homes are obviously the most problematic [ya think?] because they’re ‘congregate,’ plus older, vulnerable people. [BINGO, write another book.]

“OASAS facilities, what we call the ‘O facilities,’ they’re ‘congregate’ — not necessarily older — but congregate facilities.”

Ever notice how Cuomo slows down, oddly annunciates random words, all while trying to sound like he’s talking to a three-year-old, just to make sure the three-year-old understands the sheer brilliance as it leaves his mouth? lips? Yeah, me too.

Setting aside whether drug addicts should be among the first to receive COVID vaccines, we don’t have to travel too far back to a time when Andrew Cuomo didn’t want to have anything to do with a vaccine released while the Devil’s spawn is president of the United States.

As reported by RedState’s Brandon Morse in early November, Cuomo announced that he would try to block the distribution of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine because, you know, Trump.

And as RedState’s Sister Toldjah wrote less than a week later, President Trump during a Rose Garden update on Operation Warp Speed, including a then-projected time table for rolling out the vaccine, called Cuomo’s bluff by suggesting that residents of New York State would not be included among “the general population” to receive the vaccine.

Apparently, “Leader” Cuomo has changed his mind. Maybe he has another “leadership” book in the works.
