According to the release, Tapper creates a world in The Hellfire Club where “Charlie Marder.. a newly appointed young New York congressman navigating the dangerous waters of the era and the capital with his wife, Margaret, a zoologist with ambitions of her own.”

Seems Jake Tapper has developed a mystery set in Washington, DC, “Amid the swirl of glamorous and powerful political leaders and deal makers, a mysterious fatal car accident thrusts Charlie and Margaret into an underworld of secret deals, secret societies, and a plot that could change the course of history.”

Characters are not created out of whole cloth however, the statement indicates we can expect a mesh of fictional characters in a an all too familiar reality, “Being able to combine Washington intrigue with this fascinating time period and the larger-than-life characters who come with it — the Kennedys, McCarthy, Nixon, Ike — has been a thrill,” the author said in the statement. “I hope readers agree.”
