Trump Campaign Gives Sarcastic Response to Kamala Harris’ Vice Presidential Debate Request

The calls for President Biden to pass the torch had stopped following the former president and current GOP nominee for president, Donald Trump's assassination attempt, but the Democrats have ramped up those calls in the past couple of days. As reported earlier, top House Democrat and lead voice of the Russia collusion hoax, Adam Schiff, asked Biden to withdraw from the race.

Vice President Harris called GOP VP nominee and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) to congratulate him. She then challenged Vance to a debate, and agreed to debate on either July 23 or August 13, to be aired on CBS.

On Tuesday, Vance told Newsmax:

Obviously, we want to debate Vice President Harris because it's important for the American people to see the contrast.

Harris' debate challenge prompted the Trump campaign to release a statement on Wednesday, which stated:

We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention. To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate.

The Trump team has the momentum, and they are on the attack, putting the Democrats' backs to the wall, daring them to replace Biden. At this point, it would work out better for the GOP--up and down the ballot--for Biden to remain on the ticket.

If Biden is replaced, it will create more infighting among those who are staunch Biden supporters, and some have already said they will not vote if he is not the nominee:

As the GOP is uniting and bringing in folks who have never voted Republican before, the Democrats seem split on not only who the nominee should be but whether Biden's replacement will even be able to unify their own party, let alone draw Independent voters:

The bottom line is that we don't know who the Democrats will nominate, so the Trump campaign statement was funny but true. If they decide to go with Kamala and have Gov. Pritzker (D-IL), Newsom (D-CA), or Whitmer (D-MI), Vance will likely have his way with any of them in a debate. The Democrats are in a jam right now, and the GOP is taking advantage, but they can't get complacent. Every vote matters, even if the polls predict an electoral landslide for Trump-Vance.
