CNN reporters were genuinely left scratching their heads on Thursday when it came to covering the news about President Donald Trump's economy in the June Jobs report, and we can't get enough of all this winning.
During a segment on the network, CNN's Sara Sidner was speaking with senior reporter Matt Egan about the job market and seemed shocked to report that its reporting on the doom and gloom about Trump's economy aren't happening.
"You expected some of this, but this is better than expected?" Sidner asked, as her voice rose.
CNN: "This jobs market is like the Energizer Bunny. Every single time we expect it to run out of steam, it just keeps going and going."

"We were also expecting a slowdown — we did NOT get that."
"The unemployment rate was expected to go up — it didn't. It went DOWN."

"Yes, Sara, it is," Egan replied. "This jobs market is like the Energizer Bunny. Every single time we expect it to run out of steam, it just keeps going and going."
"So, these new numbers show the U.S. economy added 147,000 jobs in June," he added, with shock in his voice. "That was well ahead of the expectation of about 118,00 [jobs]. Well ahead of some whispers that we heard on Wall Street of a sub-100,000 number."
"This is indeed beating expectation numbers," Egan continued. "We were also expecting a slowdown — we did NOT get that. This is basically in line with May, which was revised higher is also good news. The unemployment rate was expected to go up — it didn't. It went DOWN."
As RedState reported earlier, June numbers show the U.S. job growth exceeded expectations, confounding economic experts who had predicted a downturn in hiring due to uncertainty over trade and fiscal policy.
Streiff wrote:
The U.S. added 147,000 jobs in June. This beat the expected gain of 110,000 jobs that economists polled by The Wall Street Journal had expected. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1% from 4.2%. Unlike the Biden era, where all jobs reports were inevitably revised downward after the press attention had passed, the April and May reports were revised up by 16,000. This is the fourth straight month employment data has beaten the expert forecasts.
The report added details about how the public sector did:
Public sector hiring contributed 73,000 jobs in June. Most of those positions were in state and local government, with the majority being in the education sector. Healthcare employment added another 39,000 positions, primarily in hospitals and residential care facilities. Social services created another 19,000 jobs. The big gains in the private sector were construction (15,000 new jobs) and leisure and hospitality (20,000 jobs).
President Trump has also reacted to the great news, re-posting on his Truth Social a post from the U.S. Department of Labor, showing that America First policies are working.

"The jobs report again shattered expectations, with 147,000 new jobs added in June!" the post read. "@POTUS' America First policies continue to unleash historic growth and prosperity for our workers."
In a second post, the Labor Department re-shared a post with headlines about the economy. "The Trump Effect," it read, with images of reports from CNN, CNBC, and Bloomberg, all having to report that U.S. payroll and job growth went up in June.
Definitely not tired of winning yet.
