Top 5 News Media Embarrassments of 2016
Well seeing as 2016’s word was surreal, you might expect some pretty big embarrassments in the news, and you wouldn’t be disappointed.
“In the coming days, people will be looking for someone to blame: the pollsters, the strident feminists, the Democratic party, a vengeful god. But once you dust for fingerprints, it’s pretty clear who ruined America: white people. I guess ruining Brooklyn was just a dry run,”
Thank you Ms. Bee, you gave actual racists ammunition and cover.
Another leaked email has emerged showing Democratic National Committee boss and former CNN contributor Donna Brazile sharing a debate question in advance with the Hillary Clinton campaign — despite Brazile’s persistent claims to the contrary.
CNN announced in a statement soon after the email became public Monday that Brazile had tendered her resignation and the network accepted it on Oct. 14, days after the controversy over Brazile tipping off the Clinton campaign initially broke.
You know it’s pretty bad when CNN fires someone for helping out a Clinton.
“Cruz is somehow beginning to get some momentum from Iowa and elsewhere,” Brooks said. “And so people are either mimicking him, which Rubio is doing a little by adopting some of the dark and satanic tones that Cruz has…
Corn also jumped into the conversation as he contended that Cruz’s father, a traveling pastor, is also “satanic.”– PBS News Hour
Just why does PBS get federal funding again ?
Sorry for the google search link here but there was just too much of this. It’s almost as if it has become policy in the newsmedia to never say “Islamic Terrorism”. There was Orlando, New York, Columbus, Philadelphia, and all the attacks in Europe, all somehow committed by lone wolves.
Well there was no doubt about that. All the talking heads on television let us know it was going to happen and there was no way Trump could win. If you watch the video the Federalist has you can see MSNBC’s commentator state “Trump his headed for a historic defeat, and the bigger the defeat is the better it will be for the Republican Party”. His point being the GOP is out of touch, hmmmmmm.
Snopes.com Literally Employs Prostitutes
And that isn’t even the worst of it. First the websit started business by misrepresenting who they were.
Profiles of the website disclose that for some time before it was set up, the couple had posed as ‘The San Fernardo Valley Folklore Society’, using its name on letterheads, even though it did not exist.
Although Young lists her job as ‘administrative assistant at Snopes’ on LinkedIn, her escort websites and Twitter accounts still appear to be active. it is unclear if she is still working as one.
She describes herself on her Twitter page as ‘a mature and experienced courtesan, idealist, activist & dreamer.’
On her escort website, she calls herself ‘an elite and discreet companion’ who ‘understands that while pleasure and passion may be explored in the bedroom, it is hardly the only place.’
One of the lead fact-checkers, Kim LaCapria, has also been a sex-and-fetish blogger who went by the pseudonym ‘Vice Vixen.’
She described her blog as a lifestyle website ‘with a specific focus on naughtiness, sin, carnal pursuits, and general hedonism and bonne vivante-ery.’
The Grinch Is Making His Rounds This Year
First we have UVA students signing a petition to ban Christmas
CRO reporters Amber Athey and Cabot Phillips visited UVA, created a faux student group called “Students for an Inclusive Holiday Season,” and asked students to sign a petition getting rid of school references to Christmas because of the holiday’s “oppressive” and “triggering” nature.
In less than two hours, nearly twenty students opted to sign the fake Christmas-banning petition.
“This time of year, it feels like people can shove their holiday happiness in your face, like ‘Merry Christmas!’ and it just gets kind of old,” Phillips ventured, as a signee agreed.
I’m glad these brave students stood up to protect everyone from Santa Claus. I know I feel that much safer. Of course not nearly as much as knowing I won’t have to worry about hearing “God Bless Us Everyone” thanks to a couple of heroic parents in Lancaster PA.
The fifth graders at Centerville Elementary School in Lancaster County, Pa., have been performing “A Christmas Carol” for decades. But this year that tradition came to an abrupt end.
Parents told local reporters the play was canceled because two parents complained about a line in the Charles Dickens holiday classic. The unnamed parents took offense at the words uttered by Tiny Tim, “God bless us, every one,” television station WHTM reported.
Once again thanks to those who protected the community from having to see Tiny Tim, be happy on Christmas.
In A Bit Of A Christmas Miracle Snow In The Sahara
The Algerian town of Ain Sefra, deep in the dry, hot Sahara desert was hit by a freak snowfall on December 19. It’s the first time snow has fallen in the region in 37 years. The last time flakes are reported to have fallen here was when a brief blizzard hit town in February 1979.
Remember if it’s something cold like snow it’s weather, if it’s hot it’s climate.
Drink up That’s it for the Watercooler today. As always it’s an open thread
