The United States State Department just posted a tweet, saying, “On #Juneteenth we continue to fight against systemic racism & build a freer, stronger country.” The photo in the tweet says, “The fight for Freedom and Equity continues” with a Black Lives Matter Flag in the background. This should make it crystal clear to GOP politicians that, for the Democratic Party, the now-federal holiday is not about national pride. The holiday now serves only to push forth the left’s radical racially driven agenda. But, can we really trust the GOP establishment to recognize this?

This week, every single Republican senator voted in favor of making Juneteenth, the day in which Texas slaves finally received word they were free men and women on June 19th, 1865 after the Emancipation Proclamation was passed two years earlier freeing all slaves in Confederate states.

Indeed, it was a joyous day and one that the state of Texas has celebrated officially for more than 40 years.

But, it is curious that the GOP senators voted in favor of the holiday when a paltry seven percent of the GOP voting bloc supported making it a national holiday.

“How could you oppose making a holiday to celebrate the end of slavery?” the GOP establishment demanded of its voters. If the Democratic Party was capable of acting in good faith, and passing this bill purely for the sake of national pride and celebrating a historic day, that would be a good question.

But the Democratic Party doesn’t operate that way. They look for power at all costs. They use divisive cultural issues to browbeat Republican politicians who are afraid of being called “racist” over the head into submission so they can craft new laws.

When Republican representatives like Matt Rosendale attempted to point this out, Texas Sen. John Cornyn, the main proponent of the bill, derided them as “kooky.”

What the GOP establishment didn’t understand was that its base was worried that the Democratic Party would use Juneteenth to support the demands of the Black Lives Matter movement and embrace the perfidious Critical Race Theory, which teaches the defining feature of American life is racism both at the individual and systemic level (meaning it is embedded into our founding documents and concept of Natural Law).

The State Department tweet today now shows the conservative base was right to worry this would happen.

Everything in that tweet is in direct opposition to what America believes in and what makes it exceptional.

Equity? We aren’t founded on equity. Equity is not possible, because it seeks to create a world that is fair. But life isn’t fair. It never has been and it never will be.

What we can fight for is a world in which we are all recognized as equal. That is what we are founded on and should celebrate and work towards – the idea that all men are created equal, endowed with certain inalienable rights.

As Frederick Douglass pointed out, and as believed by Justice Clarence Thomas, while this concept wasn’t recognized fully at the time of our founding for all men, the principles of our Declaration of Independence and the legal framework in our Constitution allowed for this to come to fruition over time.

Even President Barack Obama purportedly understood this at one point. Here’s what he said on his re-election night in 2012:

I believe we can keep the promise of our founders, the idea that if you’re willing to work hard, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or where you love. It doesn’t matter whether you’re black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you’re willing to try.

But we know the Biden administration doesn’t see America that way. They don’t believe you can make it if you’re willing to try. They believe our founding principles hold back minorities. And that white people who have success are only successful because of the color of their skin.

They believe “white supremacy” is woven into the fabric of our nation and our founding principles. United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said as much recently while apologizing to the world for America’s supposed “inequity.”

It should come as no surprise then that the State Department is embracing Black Lives Matter, a communist-run organization that believes race is the driving factor of success or failure in America.  BLM believes, as Critical Race Theory promotes, that Americans should be taught see each other, not as equal under God, but as different races with privileges and oppression intertwined throughout. (Side Note: Isn’t this tweet a Hatch Act violation for using the Black Lives Matter flag? Does anybody believe a Republican administration could get away with posting a Tea Party flag or a pro-life flag?)

Consider this, the official name of the new holiday is Juneteenth National Independence Day Act. But, as pointed out Republican Washington state congressional candidate Joe Kent, unlike the Independence Day on July 4th, this one focuses on Marxist, Anti-American language.

“The Marxist fist & BLM flag are a slap in the face to the American legacy. Our founders dreamed of nation w/ liberty & justice for all. We fought a civil war & many other fights to arrive where we are today. Now the left wants to wrap that under an authoritarian system,” Kent tweeted.

He added, “I’m not against Juneteenth, but the way this has been rolled out, wrapped in violent (BLM) Marxism demonstrates that the left only wants full control & the tools of CRT are how they plan to achieve it CRT is the tool of the permanent ruling class to keep us divided, dumb & poor.”

The Marxist fist & BLM flag are a slap in the face to the American legacy. Our founders dreamed of nation w/ liberty & justice for all.

And Kent is right, Juneteenth is a wonderful holiday that should be celebrated. June 19, 1865 and the fight for a more a perfect union, is something that is uniquely American. But, the overriding factor here is that the left wants “full control” and will use every avenue possible to divide the country along racial lines as advocated by CRT.

As pointed out by the Daily Wire Michael Knowles, even the Twitter hashtag for Juneteenth embraces anti-American communistic ideals.

Hey look, the #Juneteenth hashtag includes a symbol associated with three separate aspects of radical leftist politics (i.e., communism, black nationalism, and “pride”).

But for some reason, even though the evidence is all around us, the GOP Establishment doesn’t seem to understand that the left isn’t about unity and embracing America’s wonderful heritage; the Democratic Party today is about wielding their power to reach their political goals. Juneteenth is just the latest tool to meet those ends.
