BREAKING: House Republicans Release Impeachment Inquiry Resolution

House Republicans seem to be preparing for their next step in the impeachment process.

It's long been promised that the House would be acting on the impeachment of President Joe Biden, but the investigations have been slow-moving and the weeks spent without a House Speaker delayed movement on the action until now. But Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) has filed a resolution to formally authorize the House to continue moving ahead with an impeachment inquiry.

The resolution, which you can read here, declares that "the Committees on Oversight and Accountability, Ways and Means, and the Judiciary are directed to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the House of Representatives inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach Joseph Biden."

The move comes months after then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that an impeachment probe was underway, but there had been no official inquiry passed by the House. Armstrong's resolution is scheduled for a markup on Tuesday.

It's a move Republicans have been promising for a long time.

“Constitutionally, it’s not required. Speaker said we’re [in] an impeachment inquiry, [then] we’re in an impeachment inquiry,” Rep. Jim Jordan said recently. “But if you have a vote of the full House of Representatives and the majority say we’re in that official status as part of our overall oversight work or constitutional oversight duty that we have, it just helps us in court.”

The move comes as the House Oversight Committee is escalating its battle with Hunter Biden. Committee Chairman James Comer threatened to hold the president's son in contempt if he refused to testify before the committee.

On November 8, 2023, we issued subpoenas to your client, Robert Hunter Biden, for a deposition on December 13, 2023. We received your letters dated November 28, 2023, and December 6, 2023, concerning the deposition subpoenas. Contrary to the assertions in your letter, there is no “choice” for Mr. Biden to make; the subpoenas compel him to appear for a deposition on December 13. If Mr. Biden does not appear for his deposition on December 13, 2023, the Committees will initiate contempt of Congress proceedings.

The committee also revealed that the president had previously used aliases to communicate with his son's business associates hundreds of times and that the president had also received many payments related to his son's business that far exceed previous claims that it was a simple payback of loans, etc.

Democrats are accusing Republicans of bitter politics and claim they are doing this only because Democrats impeached Trump during the former-president's time in office. Republicans counter those claims by pointing out that where there is smoke - and there seems to be a lot of it - there is, in fact, a fire.
