A new ad by Lone Star Liberty PAC pushes hard against Democrat candidate James Talarico.
The ad declares: "Low T Talarico is too WEAK and WEIRD for Texas." The PAC didn't have to do much (and really didn't try very hard) in pointing this out. The video editors supercuts interviews and speeches of Talarico, letting Talarico's positions in his own words speak for themselves. The Talarico takes are bookended by President Donald Trump's comment on Air Force One that Talarico is a "weird, WEIRD candidate."

So, where's the lie? These are Talarico's words, after all, and words he is not running away from. Thus far, he is doubling down on these comments, making claims that Republicans are going to paint him as a radical leftist.
But who is the one holding the brush? It's not Republicans or the Lone Star Liberty PAC.
According to a 2024 study, 67 percent of Texans identify as Christian, and Texas ranks as the third most religious state in the union. That's around 9 million of the roughly 18 million registered voters in Texas, Democrat or Republican. Catholic and Southern Baptist are the top two denominations that dominate Texas. These aren't exactly progressive-leaning congregations. If anything, they are two of the most dogmatic doctrinally.
A majority of Texans are Catholic or Southern Baptist, with over 9 million combined adherents, according to a 2020 membership report from the Association of Religion Data Archives. The two denominations also share the largest number of worshippers in Tarrant County.
So, forget about Talarico's cultivated version of Christianity, which comes off as biblically unsound. Talarico's cultural viewpoints present as nonsense in a state that prides itself on its common sense.

Talarico's prominent views:
- God is non-binary.
- Whiteness and masculinity are problems to be reckoned with.
- There are at least six genders.
- The American flag is a problematic symbol.
The ad excludes some of Talarico's half-baked takes on Jesus. Did you learn in Sunday school that Jesus was a radical feminist? I must have missed that Sunday.

Here is a small sampling of James Talarico psychotic statements.
There is no way anyone can convince me Texans will vote for this freak over Paxton. pic.twitter.com/3FaHC5LAvq
Here's my gut assessment. If Talarico continues to spout this progressive pablum, I goshdarn guarantee you that on November 4, the U.S. Senator-elect for Texas will not be him.
Even before the Tuesday runoff election, Lone Star Liberty PAC backs TX Attorney General Ken Paxton, treating him as the presumptive Republican nominee. So, they are banking that Texans will choose a man with a troubled past but who is a proven fighter for Texans and Texas values, over a clean-cut squish who is as ephemeral as the god he supposedly serves.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
