What do you get when you cross a backdrop reminiscent of hell with an angry geriatric authoritarian? You get something like the speech President Joe Biden gave last night in which he doubled down on calling folks with the temerity to disagree with him “extremists.”
Darth Brandon’s diatribe came only days after he referred to “MAGA Republicans” as semi-fascists. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre affirmed the president’s remarks during a press briefing when she defined the term “extremist” as anyone who is “not with where the majority of Americans are,” on the issues. “That is an extreme way of thinking,” she added.
In the beginning of his speech, Lord Brandon claimed, “equality and democracy are under assault.”
Later, he went all in:
Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic….
But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.
The Sith Lord-in-chief went on to claim that “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.”
He got even more dramatic, accusing conservatives of promoting “authoritarian leaders,” with no sense of irony. “They fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country,” he added.
The next day, the dark lord attempted to walk back some of his remarks, likely because of the backlash coming from the right and even some on the left. During an exchange with Fox News’ Peter Doocy, he pretended he did not just call half of the nation a threat to the Republic. “I don’t consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country,” he lied.
DOOCY: "Do you consider all Trump supporters to be a threat to the country?"
BIDEN: "I don't consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country."

Let’s get the obvious out of the way. We all know what would have happened had former President Donald Trump dared to pull a stunt like what Darth Brandon did on Thursday, don’t we? There would have been a wholesale meltdown full of wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from Democrats and members of the activist media.
But the bottom line is that Biden said what he said, and he meant every single word, comma, and period.
This will be the White House’s messaging strategy from here on out, portraying conservatives as dire threats to the survival of our Republic. No other president in recent memory has gone this far to demonize those with differing political ideologies.
However, I believe there is something many are missing.
People have characterized the president’s speech as “angry,” “dark,” and “divisive.” These are all accurate descriptions.
But when I watched the speech and the vile rhetoric coming from the White House and Democratic politicians over the past few weeks, I saw something else: Fear.
These people are terrified about what is about to happen to their grip on power in 2022 and even 2024. They know how horrid Biden’s approval ratings are. They know they are going to lose the House and possibly even the Senate in November. Democrats understand that once the GOP has control of the lower chamber, a slew of investigations into this administration will ensue, and they are not looking forward to it.
Moreover, the left sees the writing on the wall when it comes to the presidency. They know their bench of potential candidates is limited and that, despite his statements to the contrary, Biden is likely not going to seek re-election. Indeed, even if he does, Democrats are in trouble.
The left is desperately afraid of the Orange Man What Is Bad™ making a triumphant comeback. In fact, it is their worst nightmare at this point. I believe this speech and the rhetoric coming from Democrats are designed to set the stage for their next attack on Trump. Yes, I’m talking about the Justice Department indicting the former president after the midterm elections have concluded. This will be a last-ditch effort to ensure he is not on the ticket for 2024, and they know they better not miss when they take this shot at the king. The left essentially wants to frighten Americans into supporting them over the next two years.
This is a dangerous game. Master Yoda teaches us that “fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
Yes, it’s a silly Star Wars reference, but the sentiment is accurate. For a sitting President of the United States to foment this type of extreme fear is incredibly reckless. This could have consequences for the country that none of us wish to materialize.
Nevertheless, this is what Democrats are turning American politics into. They are willing to continue ripping the nation apart for political expediency. The question is: Can we ever recover?
