The problem for Democrats in Congress is that they don’t realize the American people aren’t as stupid as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her band of angry Democrats think. Fortunately for the right, the hard left is intent on failing to learn their lesson.

According to a new polling memo sent to a top Trump adviser from pollster John McLaughlin, voters don’t want to go through another effort to impeach the president. The Washington Examiner reported, “pollster John McLaughlin’s memo to Jason Miller shows that battleground voters are more eager for the nation to move on rather than impeach the president for last week’s violent protest by pro-Trump supporters in the U.S. Capitol.”

The Times report added, “those who push for impeachment may face a voter backlash in the 2022 midterm elections.

“Voters strongly prefer that Congress deal with fighting coronavirus and not impeachment. Impeachment is viewed as a waste of time and money. Voters believe that the Democrats are playing politics and that continuing to attack the president is making it worse,” McLaughlin wrote.

Here are the poll’s findings:

Sixty percent of all voters said it is ‘another waste of time and money.’

Twenty-three percent prefer impeaching President Trump.

Seventy-seven percent said Congress should work on the coronavirus response instead.

Seventy-four percent said impeachment is ‘politically motivated to prevent the president from running again.’

Sixty-five percent said Biden and Pelosi are ‘keeping the country divided.’

But even more illuminating is that lawmakers who support impeachment might regret doing so in 2022. The Washington Examiner noted:

The survey memo included a warning against pushing on with impeachment, as Pelosi is poised to do, possibly with a full House vote on Wednesday. Nearly half of those polled are ‘less likely to vote for a member of Congress who votes to impeach.’ Just 36% are more likely.

Nobody except far-left Democrats are on board with Pelosi and the Gang pulling the nation through another politically-motivated impeachment spectacle. It is easy for anyone to see what the left is trying to do; they only wish to further smear conservatives and prevent Trump from running for president again in 2024.

Once again, the far-left is showing that they are out of touch with the American public. But it might be worse for them than it seems. Right now, the number of those who view impeachment as a waste of time is at 60%, but this number will likely grow over then next few months.

Democrats have already indicated that they plan to delay litigating the matter until after Biden’s first 100 days in office. This means that they will be wasting taxpayer money to impeach a president who has been out of office for three months. Do they truly believe that the public will want to keep hearing about their issues with Trump?

The truth is that most of the country wishes to move on and fight the next battle while the Democrats want to keep pulling us back into their “resistance.” If they are so committed to making such a self-harming decision, why should we interfere?
