As Election Day draws closer, President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are set to participate in their final debate this Thursday. After a disastrous first debate and a series of town hall events, the two will face off for the last time in their final bids to win the presidency.

Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller gave the audience a glimpse at what Americans can expect from the president during the final debate. In an appearance with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, Miller indicated that since the discussion will focus on foreign policy as one of the topics, Biden will have to finally address his son’s dealings with Ukraine.

“We were supposed to have a debate largely focused on foreign policy this next Thursday, which would be perfect as we — especially as we talk about the issue of Joe Biden potentially being compromised,” Miller told Wallace. “We know Fox News has confirmed the authenticity of these emails from the Hunter Biden-Chinese cash scandal that’s going on right now that the New York Post has been covering pretty extensively. I wish we were spending a lot more time going into foreign policy, especially as President Trump has these peace deals that he’s able to point to.”

Miller explained that the president would “give Joe Biden a little bit more room to explain himself on some of these issues.” He added, “I do think the president’s going to want to hear Joe Biden’s answer on some of these, and we’ll definitely give him all the time that Joe Biden wants to talk about packing the court. I think he’s going to get it on Thursday.”

When Wallace pushed back on the veracity of the New York Post’s bombshell story about Hunter Biden, Miller pointed out that the former vice president has not denied the allegations. He said:

“Joe Biden has not come out and himself denied any of these allegations. And, additionally, there’s a — a much bigger, broader things. You think back to 2016 and the way that voters really rejected the whole Clinton Inc., the way the Clinton family made all this money trading off their name and access. We’re seeing the exact same thing here with Joe Biden and his family. Both of his brothers are lobbyists. His son is obviously doing a lot of foreign work.”

During the first debate, one of the mistakes that President Trump made was frequently interrupting Biden when it was Biden’s turn to speak. From the beginning of the debate, the president was throwing punches, many of which landed. But in so doing, he also damaged himself in that he never allowed Biden to have enough rope to hang himself.

So far, Biden has not had a significant “senior moment” during the debates, but in a 90-minute event with Trump peppering him with attacks, he would most likely have folded if Trump had allowed him to speak. This will be especially important when the Hunter Biden/Burisma issue and the court-packing question come up. These are subjects that Joe Biden wants desperately to avoid, and if Trump talks over him, he could provide a way out.

But regardless of strategy, it appears that this debate might be less raucous than the first. While there are still undecided voters, it is not clear if there are enough to swing the election. Either way, the event will still be entertaining, at least.
