Looks like Hillary has been Less than Forthcoming with her E-mails

I know it’s hardly a shocker that Hillary Clinton would hide some of her e-mails from the House Select Committee on Benghazi, but that’s what Trey Gowdy and the Republicans there have discovered. With a tip of the hat to the Weekly Standard, here’s what the relevant press release from the committee said:

The Select Committee on Benghazi today released emails it uncovered to and from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that should have been, but were not, turned over in response to committee requests. The emails came to light as part of a document request to Sidney Blumenthal, who was recently deposed by the committee after it was discovered nearly half of Secretary Clinton’s public record regarding Libya and Benghazi pertains to emails from Sidney Blumenthal.

Chairman Trey Gowdy requested the State Department provide the House their copies of these emails by the end of the day, if they have them.

“Once again the Benghazi Committee uncovers information that should already be part of the public record but was not made available to the American people or congressional investigators,” said Gowdy, R-S.C. “These emails should have been part of the public record when Secretary Clinton left office and at a bare minimum included when the State Department released Clinton’s self-selected records on Libya. For that reason, the committee has made the decision to release the latest set of Clinton’s public records unearthed by the committee.”

The rest of the release outlines what exactly was in those e-mails, which raise plenty of questions about just how involved Sid Blumenthal was with the State Department’s decision making process. E-mails authored by or dealing with him, per the committee, “far and away dominates all other emails we have from Secretary Clinton regarding Benghazi and Libya.”

If we had a media that was truly interested in getting the truth out, news like this would sink whatever’s left of Hillary Clinton’s campaign. One scandal after another involving her has surfaced, yet they only acknowledge it begrudgingly and devote as little time as possible to covering it.

But let’s get back to Hillary and what really happened in Libya on September 11, 2012. These are not actions of someone with nothing to hide. Anyone with half a brain can see that.

I can’t say I envy [mc_name name=’Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’G000566′ ] right now. He is doing yeoman’s work on the issue, and the Democrats on the committee are more committed to protecting their guys than they are in pursuing the truth. It should come as little surprise, then, that the SC Republican believes his Democratic counterpart [mc_name name=’Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’C000984′ ] is actually helping the Obama administration hide the records. Nevertheless, what this committee is doing is necessary work. We have to know what happened in Benghazi that night, whether the Democrats want to cooperate or not. We cannot allow this sort of thing to happen again, and we should make sure the rest of the nation understands that as we inch closer to the 2016 elections.
