George Stephanopoulos was especially excited on Friday morning, opening his show with this: “Good morning, America! Breaking news as we come on the air! President Trump’s longtime adviser Roger Stone charged in the Russia investigation.”

The arrest was reported in similar fashion by all the major networks.

Anchors feverishly reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had charged President Trump’s former associate Roger Stone with obstruction of justice, making false statements and witness tampering. From the moment CNN was tipped off by a member of Mueller’s team about Stone’s predawn arrest, the mainstream media gushed with renewed excitement, hoping this development would finally provide proof that Trump had colluded with the Russians.

Sorry to disappoint you libs, but there are two reasons why this is not so. First, why would Roger Stone have tried to discover what Wikileaks had found if Trump had been colluding with the Russians? He would have already known. And second, this is Mueller doing what he does best. Unable to find any serious crimes with which to charge a Trump associate, he has once again resorted to process crimes to snare Stone.

Rush Limbaugh pointed out two noteworthy observations about Stone’s arrest. First, Stone’s alleged crimes all occurred after the investigation of Trump for colluding with Russians had begun, just as the process crimes of General Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos did.

And most importantly, there is exonerating evidence in the indictment itself. If Trump or a member of his team had colluded with the Russians, there would have been no need to find out what damaging information Wikileaks had found out about Hillary Clinton.

Powerline’s John Hinderaker arrived at the same conclusion. He wrote:

The salient point is that Mueller’s indictment of Stone confirms that the Trump campaign had nothing to do with the theft of emails from the Democratic National Committee or their publication by Wikileaks. The allegations against Stone all have to do with what happened after Wikileaks dumped the first batch of DNC emails. Stone tried–unsuccessfully–to get in touch with Julian Assange or someone else who could tell him whether Wikileaks had more emails, and if so, what they contained. As Byron (York) points out, everyone in the political world, in the Summer of 2016, was trying to find out whether Wikileaks had more DNC emails, and if so, what they contained.

The MSM reported on Friday morning that Stone’s arrest was a surprise. Not true. Roger Stone has been expecting this development, and speaking quite openly about it, for months now.

So, why was Stone’s arrest executed in such a conspicuous manner.

Why did Mueller feel the need to “surprise” Stone while he was sleeping? Why did he send multiple vehicles and agents to Stone’s home? And why did a member of Mueller’s team tip off CNN prior to the raid?

Mueller wanted to maximize Stone’s humiliation. He wanted to portray Stone as a criminal.

Mueller specializes in tearing people down and leaving their reputations in tatters.

Limbaugh said:

Why do you go in there at 6 o’clock? To make sure this disgustingly vile criminal can’t sneak out and escape. You go in there when he’s asleep! So the pictures, the video is designed to prove the legitimacy of the investigation.

Because people will conclude, “My God, this guy must be bad! They really must have the goods on this guy to go this length. They must be really afraid this guy’s gonna hop a plane to Venezuela if we don’t capture him while he’s asleep,” and that’s what the media is out then helping people to understand.

This arrest was a political stunt set up by the Mueller team and carried out by an FBI which has become so politicized, it bears no resemblance to the institution it was intended to be.
