There is a striking similarity between today’s social justice warrior and yesterday’s totalitarian leaders.  Like the circular rhetoric of your typical Stalinist of old, today’s social justice rhetoric is just as circular and narrow.  Everything uttered is just a rehash of things already said.  There is no original thought whatsoever.  Sure, they actually resort to inventing words to make themselves sound “informed,” but they are neither informed nor original.  Like the Stalinist of old, everyone stays within the narrow confines of acceptable rhetoric.  They stick to the talking points which is why it is hard to argue or reason with them.  They are like little automatons who spit out these talking points.

Like any good totalitarian, there is a condemned group of people who are the targets of their attacks.  They are the ones blamed for society’s ills.  Communists and Nazis had their preferred targets.  The social justice warrior too has their target- mainly white heterosexual males.  And this is where it starts to get a little tricky for these people.  Genetics sometimes happens to get in the way.  If you happen to be a white heterosexual male AND a social justice warrior, you will be relentlessly monitored to make sure the proper level of subordination and humility is shown to the main victim group.  Making the task even harder is the fact that the dominant victim group often changes and shifts on a dime.

Stalinists certainly had their fair share of opponents within and outside Russia.  The outside opponent for the social justice warrior is, primarily, conservatives.  If you’re conservative, white, male and heterosexual, you wear a quadruple yoke around your neck.  This is the equivalent of Satan to them and you are worthy of nothing short of a re-education camp complete with sensitivity training, or the gulag if your are totally not redeemable.

The internal enemies are, ironically, white heterosexual males.  Notice that the only thing different between the internal and external enemy is the red badge of “conservatives.”  A white, male, heterosexual social justice warrior can find themselves on the wrong side of things under two conditions.  First, if they fail to properly prop up the dominant victim group du jour, they may find themselves consigned to a Gender Studies course.  The second sin is to fail to flagellate and humiliate oneself enough as atoning for their “privilege” of being a white, male heterosexual.

The most powerful- the proletariat- of the social justice warriors are the biggest victim group.  They are at the forefront of the social justice revolution.  And because they are so powerful, they are the ultimate arbiters of social justice.  Again, the powerful group shifts with the changing of the seasons… or the latest police shooting.

Given these similarities, it is plain to see that the social justice movement is a totalitarian one in its embryonic form.  Unfortunately, it is a well developed totalitarian ideology also.  One can make a rational conclusion that it evolved out of Communism, particularly its totalitarian form, although the particulars and the specific content may be different.  Communism was an ideological tool that allowed some to gain power to marginalize some other group.

Communism, however, relied on economic arguments, but the means of attaining power and the form of social justice is basically the same absent the economic arguments.  Instead of economics, the content of the ideology is based more on racial and gender identity.  A hierarchy of victimhood has replaced economic class.  In social justice, racial and sexual class has replaced economic class and instead of class warfare prevalent in Communism, we see racial, sexual and gender warfare.

Economics still plays a role for the social justice warrior, but in most cases it is a hodgepodge of thought that is vague and generalized.  One might also say it is a vague and ignorant notion of Marxism or socialism.  Some within the movement dare not call it that and prefer to, again, create words or phrases.  Thus, in what passes for reasoned commentary among the social justice warriors, one sometimes hears the phrase “late stage capitalism.”  Regardless, old economic theories take a back seat to the racial/sexual/gender parts of the ideology.

So, what if social justice activists win the day?  Like their economic Marxists cousins, they may seize power for a period, but eventually they would likely implode like most socialist countries.  Stalinism left a trail of dead and destitute bodies in its wake.  Social justice will not leave a trail of dead bodies; it will kill a civilization.
