Celebrity Fool of the Week

This week’s award goes to CNN analyst and alleged “Republican” strategist Ana Navarro.  In response to Trump characterization of MS-13 gang members being animals, Navarro picked up the line that the Nazis referred to Jews as rats and that by Trump using the phrase “animal,” he was somehow a closet Nazi.  Then someone pointed out this tweet from Ms. Navarro in 2016 responding to a question about whether Trump should drop out of the race:

Should Donald Trump drop out of the race? Yes. He should drop out of the human race.  He is an animal. Apologies to animals.

Extreme White Guilt in Portland, or a Great Episode of Portlandia

Black, brown and “indigenous people” were invited to a bar in Portland, Oregon where they received a $10 bill at the door funded by a group of white people who feel guilt regarding slavery.  It was dubbed “Reparations Happy Hour” by the organizers. The white people who provided the money were asked to stay away.

Gee! What Could Go Wrong Here?

In an effort to clamp down on “hate content,” music streaming giant Spotify announced they were teaming up with the following organizations which sound like a Who’s Who of political correctness: the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), the ADL, Color of Change, GLAAD, Muslim Advocates, Showing Up for Racial Justice and the International Network Against Cyber Hate.  This is interesting since the SPLC has essentially redefined the phrase “hate” to include anything white and/or Christian.

Gee! What Could Go Wrong Here? Deja Vu

In response to foreign meddling in elections through social media, Facebook has decided to partner with the Atlantic Council.  This is an anti-Trump think tank funded by people like Ted Turner, George Soros and his Open Society Foundation. In 2016, a top official offered to be a surrogate in the Clinton campaign which would have violated the think tank’s 501(c)(3) status.  This should lead to some interesting censorship.

Well, This Is Certainly Embarrassing

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker recently held a gala to raise funds for the One Fair Wage campaign which is designed to raise wages for those in the restaurant industry.  Some tickets went for $50,000 and each dinner cost $500. This is did not sit well with many who happen to work in the restaurant business. Many within that industry fear that an increase in the minimum wage will result in job losses.  In fact, Joshua Chiasson, a representative for the Restaurant Workers of America, had this take on the gala:

I’ve been contacted by dozens of servers who were interested in protesting this event.  They were particularly furious about a $50,000-per-table fundraiser to harm our industry, attended by people who don’t work in our industry.

That’s par for the course for your average social justice warrior, but rest assured Parker surely feels virtuous in her misguided venture.

Al Sharpton’s Take on a Royal Wedding

Noted activist, bloviator and hoaxster Al Sharpton had a unique take on the recent royal wedding which transfixed the world as the person fifth in line to the British throne married American Meghan Markle, who is biracial.  Claimed Sharpton: “When you got little white girls in Wales saying, ‘I want to be like Meghan, there’s a shift worldwide that white male supremacy is on its last breath.”  The royal family- doing their part to dismantle the white, male supremacist patriarchy and Al Sharpton- doing his part to remind us all of how stupid he is.

Hillary Gets and Award for Being Hillary

Hillary Clinton, who sports the dubious honor of losing a primary to a do-nothing Senator from Illinois and an election to Donald Trump, will be honored by Harvard University nevertheless when she receives the coveted Radcliffe Medal.  The stated reason is for her “transformative impact on society.”  If being a two-time loser is “transformative,” then there are a lot of transformative people out there.

That’s it for this week’s edition of those silly culture wars.  Be sure to join me again when I bring you the best and brightest the Left has to conjure.
