Why the Left Likely Won't Succeed in Creating a 'Trans Floyd'

With the 2024 elections right around the corner, the left has been trying to do what it's been doing before major elections, and that's generating some sort of movement that would tip public opinion toward Democrats by making villains out of Republicans and American society in general.

This worked wonders for the Democrats in 2020 when the Black Lives Matter movement came roaring back, giving activists and Democrats everywhere the means to paint Republicans and their supporters as racist and evil under the guise of an equality movement that even corporations plastered all over their products.

But BLM is now a dead movement thanks to a laundry list of issues, including unanswered questions about what happened to all the money it got, its leaders now living in expensive homes, and smoldering black neighborhoods that were left worse off than before. That's not a well they can draw from anymore.

So they have to find a new one, and they've been trying, but nothing's been catching. They've tried to scare people with a new wave of COVID, environmental fearmongering, and "women's rights," but nothing truly seems to be catching on like it did before.

But that hasn't stopped them from trying.

The moment I saw the story of Nex Benedict, her death, and the media jumping the gun to declare it a murder, I knew what they were up to. They were going to try to make her into a martyr and create a "Trans Floyd."

As I wrote then:

The point is to find someone for the left to rally around. They need a name they can chant in the streets and make murals of so that the left can be seen as the heroes fighting against injustice and hate. They need a name for the media to repeat ad nauseam and for celebrities to speak out about. They need students to protest at colleges and, more importantly, for donations to come pouring into various causes and coffers.

They need a martyr they can use to paint America and those who support her as evil.

Because if they succeed in turning Benedict into a martyr then it will consolidate its voting base, attract young voters, and generate a spite vote, and 2024 looks all the better.

Sure enough, as Bonchie reported on Friday, the media has tried to make Benedict a martyr in a big way with major news outlets trying to push the idea that no one is being charged with a crime for Benedict's death...which was a suicide.

As Bonchie noted, the tactic is pretty obvious:

What those headlines are meant to convey is obvious. Namely, that Benedict died, at least partially, as a result of a bigoted anti-transgender attack at school. We know that because that was the story told for several days until more details came to light. Yet, even though that narrative has been completely debunked, the charge to turn a teen's tragic self-inflicted death into the next George Floyd continues.

It should be remembered that Benedict was attacked by two girls in a bathroom after she, herself, started the fight. She's on record admitting so. Benedict died by overdosing on the medication she was prescribed, not from the altercation between her and the two girls.

But try as they might, the left probably won't actually generate a movement around Benedict...or at the very least they probably won't get one going that will remotely match the cultural and political power of BLM. There are a handful of reasons why.

Firstly, the transgender movement is still relatively new despite being around in a major way for a decade. It hasn't had the cook time that the racial animus movement has, which has had generations to infect public discourse. You can make an entire career out of race-baiting as people like Joy Reid and Al Sharpton can attest to, but there isn't nearly as much money in trans-baiting.

Secondly, transgender activists are a pretty unpleasant group. They're usually sexual deviants who have a bizarre interest in your children to the point where they're ready to dress in drag and dance provocatively in front of them. They push very hard to put pornography and sexually suggestive books in front of your children. One of them wandered into a public school and killed six people, including three children.

It's hard to want to support a movement when the person you're walking alongside keeps side-eyeing your child.

As it stands, America is actually in the midst of a struggle against the transgender movement as it attempts to dominate every aspect of our culture, including our workplace and our children's schools. It's pretty clear that there is a mental health issue at play here, but we're seeing increasingly that transgenderism and gender fluidity aren't the answer.

Do I think we'll see a march or two in the street? Yes, but it'll be smaller than what the left would hope for. I think activists are organizing something as we speak, or maybe even have something on the schedule already to coincide with the media's attempts to build a movement.

But will it be anything like we saw with BLM? Likely not.
