There's Finally a Time of Death Announced for the COVID Response Team

The curtain is finally coming down on one of the biggest acts in recent American history as the White House’s COVID Response Team finally gets a date when they will disband.

According to Fox News, the pandemic is officially to be considered done by the end of May, according to the World Health Organization, after three years of infections receding since the initial lockdowns. The Biden Administration is taking the opportunity to spike the football and take a couple of victory laps, patting itself on the back for what it thinks is its success in eliminating the viral scourge.

“As a result of this administration’s historic response to Covid-19, we as a nation are in a safer, better place than we were three years ago,” a senior administration official said. “Covid no longer disrupts our lives because of investments and our efforts to mitigate its worst impacts. Covid is not over, fighting it remains an administration priority, and transitioning out of the emergency phase is the natural evolution of the Covid response.”

As Fox News reported, the team has actually “been shrinking for some time”:

The White House Covid team had been shrinking for some time and some staffers have already left. National coordinator Ashish Jha is likely to leave the Biden administration once the team is disbanded, the news report said.

Anthony S. Fauci, chief medical adviser to the president and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and face of the U.S. response to the pandemic, retired in December; David Kessler, a top adviser on the pandemic and vaccine distribution, left in January; and the top job at the National Institutes of Health remains unfilled after Francis Collins stepped down in December 2021, the Post report said.

Despite the White House’s claim that it has benefited the people of America and the country is now far better off than before, the COVID Response team was responsible for one of the greatest economic collapses in modern American history, eliminating thousands of jobs as thousands of businesses went under due to lockdowns.

It was Republican states that initially began defying the response team and relaxed rules and restrictions, bringing their states back from economic disaster and making them economic powerhouses compared to Democrat-controlled areas. Through the response team, the Biden administration terminated even more jobs while attempting to institute mandatory vaccinations. The hospitals meant to help the people were short-staffed as nurses all over the country lost their jobs over a refusal to get the jab. There was also an attempt to force people to wear masks everywhere they went, despite the fact that it was obvious that didn’t work to stop the spread of the virus.

In fact, nothing the response team did stopped COVID in the slightest. It only served to make the American people’s lives harder and bring the American economy to a screeching halt.

The disappearance of the COVID response team will be something to celebrate, not because it signals the end to a pandemic that’s long been over despite what the “experts” say, but because its disappearance will be one less weight on the shoulders of the people.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
