Woody Harrelson has been a much-beloved actor since he appeared on America’s television screens on the hit show “Cheers.” His varied roles, ranging from hilariously comedic to intensely serious have earned him respect both inside and outside of Hollywood. It doesn’t hurt that his personality off-screen is charmingly detached from the mainstream.

Harrelson recently earned America’s respect again when he hosted Saturday Night Live and gave an opening monologue that would incite waves of controversy from the mainstream left and uproarious applause from everyone else.

Within the speech, Harrelson tells people he read the craziest script that contained a plot where the largest drug cartels in the world unite to buy up the media and the politicians and force people to stay locked up in their homes and can only come out if they take the cartel’s drugs in perpetuity. Obviously, Harrelson was speaking of the lunacy that was the pandemic lockdowns and mandatory vaccinations from the Biden administration.

It really generated respect from the general populace, especially the poor and middle class who suffered the most from these lockdowns and unnecessary rules. The left, however, didn’t appreciate it at all. Articles about Harrelson saying dangerous and untrue things began streaming from the usual suspects.

Apparently, Harrelson isn’t done dropping truth bombs that would make any typical Hollywood leftist fume, and this time the facts he’s spitting are about the one thing the glitterati hold more important than all else; fame.

According to Fox News, Harrelson believes that fame can really damage a person and that people who are famous must wage a constant struggle to not let it consume them:

“In every aspect that my ego has grown outsized, I admonish myself,” Harrelson said.

“Even into my 20s, I was the most loving person. I had such kindness. And then once fame came along, that started f—ing with those good attributes.”

The “Zombieland” star admitted he is still “going through my trip with fame, but even without fame, to deal with one’s ego is a powerful tussle.”

Harrelson said that the thing that keeps him solid is the love and grounding influence of his family:

Harrelson said he is “in a much better place” than he was five years ago, and his three daughters with wife Laura Louie keep him in check.

“My kids have always let me know what an idiot I am. Let’s just say they don’t pat me on the back unnecessarily. They’ve helped me to be a kinder, gentler soul.”

Harrelson highlighting the negative effects of fame on the brain was bad enough, but highlighting the goodness of the nuclear family in public? Some on the hard left might decry that as downright blasphemous.

But he wasn’t done. As Fox News highlights, Harrelson dove directly into his views about the lockdowns, the vaccines, and the pandemic overall:

“I don’t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you’re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on,” Harrelson told the magazine. “I’m just like, Let’s be done with this nonsense. It’s not fair to the crews. I don’t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual?”

He continued, “The anarchist part of me, I don’t feel that we should have forced testing, forced masking and forced vaccination. That’s not a free country. Really I’m talking about the crew. Because I can get out of wearing a mask. I can test less. I’m not in the same position they’re in, but it’s wrong. It’s three years. Stop.”

None of this is likely going to go over well with die-hard leftists and likely quite a few people in Hollywood are going to start getting the itch to blacklist the man, but none of that would make Harrelson wrong. While he might not be a man who fits into any political boxes, he’s definitely got a much firmer grasp on reality than many people do on specific subjects, including how being famous can cause you to go a bit crazy.

Few people in Hollywood seem to understand this fact, such as comedian Ricky Gervais and actor Anthony Hopkins.
