Earlier this month, West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin drew a line in the Democrat party’s proverbial sand and spoke out against the defund the police movement that gained steam with it.

“Defund the police? Defund, my butt,” tweeted Manchin. “I’m a proud West Virginia Democrat. We are the party of working men and women. We want to protect Americans’ jobs & healthcare. We do not have some crazy socialist agenda, and we do not believe in defunding the police.”

New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t like that he would dare take a position so moderate and shot back a tweet that featured her giving him a death stare.

The tweet went viral and then became a meme.

It’s taken a bit, but Manchin finally addressed AOC’s response to him and it’s safe to say that Manchin made it clear that the Democrat’s favorite child is definitely childish.

“I guess she put the dagger stare on me,” Manchin told the New York Times upon being asked about the tweet. “I don’t know the young lady — I really don’t. I never met her. I’m understanding she’s not that active with her bills or in committee. She’s more active on Twitter than anything else.”

Solid comeback. Manchin confirmed what we more or less suspected. What AOC exactly does in Washington isn’t talked about a lot. It seems her primary job is to be the woman in front of the mob, ginning up outrage and siccing them on people.

She does a great job being the frontman for the Democratic party. She’s the unofficial leader of the media’s favorite group “the squad” and can fundraise very well. She appears on Twitch and plays games with the largest streamers, creating voters and groundswell for the Democrat party.

However, she doesn’t really do a lot for her district and here we see the main flaw with AOC for the New Yorkers.

She’s there to serve the Democrat party, not the people.
