“We will take America without firing a shot,” Soviet leader and Communist Party head Nikita Khrushchev once said. “We do not have to invade the U.S. We will destroy you from within.”
America is an overwhelmingly strong and powerful nation. Any military attack on our soil can be considered a pipe dream as not only are our defenses and military too powerful to overcome, you’d also have to deal with the American citizenry and its belief that self-defense with the best means necessary is a divine right.
While both sides of the cold war talked often about military action, the one thing never discussed was the conquering of America with boots on the ground. The communists knew it was next to impossible, but that didn’t stop them from dreaming of American conquest through other means. Instead of imposing communism on America, they would teach it to Americans and let them impose the failed system on themselves.
Fast forward to today, and we can see the communist’s plans in action. What would have been considered a tinfoil hat fear is, today, a clear and present danger.
We were warned about this decades ago and it took a video game to bring this warning back to the forefront. As I discussed in a previous article, the new Call of Duty game that takes place during the height of the Cold War features a faithfully created President Ronald Reagan as a character and historical facts.
It also features ex-KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov being very clear that we’re in a war whether we like it or not, but it’s not the bullets and missiles we should fear.
In 1984, the defected Bezmenov sat down with G. Edward Griffen, a man accurately described by The Spectator’s Scott McKay as the “Alex Jones of his time.” Griffen’s status is irrelevant here, however, and doesn’t make Bezmenov’s words any less true.
The interview allowed Bezmenov to unveil what the Soviet’s plans were to effectively take over the United States without firing a shot, and he told of a four-step plan that was already well underway and proving successful. You can see that by the way Americans are rising against each other.
“Most of it is done by Americans to Americans thanks to a lack of moral standards,” said Bezmenov in the interview.
So far, he’s not been wrong. What we see right now any time you open your browser or click on your television has been violence inflicted on Americans by Americans and in the name of tearing down a system that was created by an evil nation, according to those tearing it down. Behind these people are open Marxists and socialists egging these rioters on such as BLM founder Patrice Cullors, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and talking heads on networks like CNN and MSNBC. They do this in the name of “justice,” but it’s clear that the concept of justice has become skewed in our time.
The four stages Bezmenov discussed are as follows;
DEMORALIZATION
The act of demoralization is best described as creating a rift between the American people and its country’s traditions, beliefs, and morals. It’s the act of making the American people turn on America by continuously highlighting its sins, or if the sin isn’t really a sin, using critical theory to make sin out of next to nothing. It’s a demoralization that takes place over time until even the patriots are so tired of defending that they’re steamrolled.
Bezmenov notes that it takes 15 to 20 years to destabilize a nation because that’s about the time it takes to “educate” an entire generation of students that their nation is evil.
“Marxism and Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generations of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism,” said Bezmenov.
He goes on to say that this process has been completed. Keep in mind that he said that back in 1984. It didn’t stop. We’re seeing the fruits of this destabilization today in places like Portland and Kenosha.
But it goes further than that as McKay wrote of this demoralization at the Spectator:
It’s even worse than that, because the cultural Marxist project not just in our schools but in our media and entertainment institutions has poisoned those against the country. Remember when the NFL was an escape from politics? Remember when the movies Hollywood made extolled American values and made viewers feel good about their country?
When was the last time you saw anything from American education or corporate media that made you feel good about your country?
American stubbornness and ingrained resistance to authority have kept it from sinking into the maw of communism thus far, but it won’t hold forever.
DESTABILIZATION
Destabilization is the act of attacking America’s “essentials” as Bezmenov calls them. These are the economy, foreign relations, and defense systems.
Look at today’s America and you’ll see some things under attack. Our military is under constant threat from Democrats both on the level of defunding (something Trump thankfully stopped cold) but also demoralization. The left is currently attempting to inject critical race theory into our military in an attempt to divide and destabilize it. An article from the New York Times recently attacked the Marines as a racist organization.
Proud and fierce in their identity, the Marines have a singular race problem that critics say is rooted in decades of resistance to change. A handful of white men rule over 185,000 white, African-American, Hispanic and Asian men and women. https://t.co/C3YvLQMr41

The largest attack, at least right now, is being carried out on our economy. Leftist politicians have used the coronavirus as an excuse to shut their states down. This economic destabilization has a double-edged effect. For one, it keeps President Donald Trump’s greatest strength at a minimum, and that’s his ability to grow an economy to never before seen heights. The second is to make Americans believe that their system has failed them and that it’s clear we need a new one. This especially applies to minority communities who would suffer most, creating an entire loyal voting bloc.
CRISIS
Bezmenov described the third stage, Crisis, which is the act of utilizing the demoralization and destabilization of America to a head with an event and supplant those in power with communists and socialists that can then collapse the system and replace it with their Marxian vision.
Today you can see not one, but many crises happening back to back to back.
First, there was Trump’s impeachment. An unconstitutional and unsubstantial attempt to throw America’s greatest protector out of power. Right after that came the coronavirus crisis, which has thrown our country into one of the most incredible attempts at stealing away freedoms and locking away rights in the name of “safety” despite the fact that the information we gathered showed us that the virus wasn’t half as deadly as we thought. That crisis is still carrying on today. Add on top of that the murder of George Floyd which has kicked off another crisis in America and has become the rallying cry for communists and Democrats as a call to action.
NORMALIZATION
You’ve heard the phrase passed around from politicians, to media figures, to activists.
All of this is our “new normal.”
McKay described what “normalization” will look like well:
The statues and monuments are gone, the ball games are out, or at least you aren’t allowed in the stadium to watch them (and you’ve got to watch them on TV interspersed with commercial spots and in-game messaging pushing whatever memes and narratives the ESPNs and NBCs of the world and their Madison Avenue partners wish to implant in your mind), the schools have purged American history and culture, the Universal Basic Income checks have replaced your job, which you can’t do because the small business where you used to work has gone under thanks to the virus.
Americans will be led by the nose to adjust to their new environment. They can complain, maybe even protest, but the powers that be will grip their newfound power tightly and you may find yourself punished for even questioning them in some way, shape, or form.
Generations will grow up in this environment and never question it. They may even be taught to look back on the old America in pure disgust and believe that Americans were stupid and foolish to live the way they did in the same way we look back on some cultures who viewed child sacrifices as the way to bring back the rain.
The “new normal” will just become normal and America as it was, as it was meant to be, will die with the last person who remembers it.
Reagan warned that we’re always one generation away from losing America. He wasn’t wrong. Bezmenov proves that.
We are in a war. We have their battle plans. We can beat them. We just have to fight.
