The Democrats and the Media Gambled With American Lives to Own Trump

The drug known as Chloroquine, or its safer little brother hydroxychloroquine, is an antimalarial drug that has been shown to curb the worst parts of the Wuhan coronavirus that has been ripping the entire globe apart ever since China failed to contain it while also failing to hide the fact that they weren’t containing it.

It should have been a no-brainer to circulate this drug across the nation in order to help those who have the virus from suffering horrible fates, especially since medical experts and even various news outlets continued to report on the drug’s positive effects on victims.

Yet, despite the mounting evidence that this drug had the serious potential to help millions of people, especially those suffering from the virus, Democrats in the media and in office refused to embrace the drug, choosing instead to denounce it or even ban it in their states.

Why?

They were hoping the drug would fail. They were hoping that when push came to shove, the drug would prove to be a complete and total waste of time, or even better, that the drug would be harmful in some capacity.

And why did they hope that?

It’s all because President Donald Trump stood at a podium in March and said that the drug has shown great results that are “very encouraging”

“It’s shown very encouraging, very, very encouraging early results, and we’re going to be able to make that drug available almost immediately, and that’s where the FDA has been so great,” Trump said. “They’ve gone through the approval process, it’s been approved and they did it, they took it down from many, many months to immediate.”

“If chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine work, you’re going to see numbers come down very rapidly,” he said, adding, “We are very excited about chloroquine. There are a lot of reasons I have to believe, again Dr. Hahn is the expert, it could have a very positive effect, or a positive effect, maybe not very, but maybe positive.”

He even took to Twitter in his excitement about it.

“HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine. The FDA has moved mountains – Thank You! Hopefully they will BOTH (H works better with A, International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents) be put in use IMMEDIATELY. PEOPLE ARE DYING, MOVE FAST, and GOD BLESS EVERYONE!” tweeted the president.

From there, the race to paint the drug as useless and potentially dangerous and Trump as a loon who is pushing snake oil was on.

Soon after Trump spoke about the drug, the media got its best chance when a man and his wife ingested chloroquine phosphate. The husband died but the wife survived. The media jumped on the story blaming Trump for convincing the couple to take the drug which killed them.

“Arizona Man Dies After Taking Chemical in Coronavirus Treatment Touted by President Trump,” said Time Magazine, with CBS echoing the same and never-Trump figures shaming Trump for being so irresponsible.

NBC even interviewed the woman and was sure to record her sounding the alarm about taking anything Trump offers.

You can argue about whether or not Trump should have been promoting the drug as helpful so early on, however, the one thing he can’t be blamed for is people ingesting poisons not meant to be consumed, especially since the chemical was for cleaning fish tanks and not for helping mitigate symptoms of a virus.

Regardless, the narrative was out there and even with a correction to the story, that narrative wasn’t going back into the dark. Trump was pushing poison and that’s what the media wanted people to believe the entire time.

He clearly wasn’t, but the idea that the drug was unproven and a potential time bomb to boot were now alive. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer banned the sale of the drug in her state after a “miscommunication” with Michigan’s Republican Senate Majority Leader asking her to warn pharmacies not to allow hoarding of the drug.

As Tucker Carlson covers in his own report, he goes over the various media pundits who attempted to shoot down the idea that chloroquine would help.

As Clarson highlights, the media was attempting to discredit the drug even before trials were done simply because Trump was for it, and if Trump is for it then they have to be against it.

This is beyond disgusting. The question has to be asked: How many lives could have been saved if the left wasn’t so busy defying and resisting everything Trump says or does? How much of this drug could now be in the hands of those who really need it?

The left gambled on the fact that the drug wasn’t anything worth putting hope into in order to make Trump look like a snake oil salesman who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. As a result, how many people are suffering? How many people are dead?
