The too-good-to-be-checked story of the MAGA hat wearing teens surrounding and taunting a Native American man had leftists in the press and Hollywood falling over themselves in order to get their own “told ya so” tweets in from the highest horse they could find.
Yet, like most too-good-to-be-checked stories it wound up being too good to be true, and now the left is spending some time deleting tweets calling for the public hanging of the MAGA hat teens according to Mediaite:
Over the past 24 hours, journalists and public figures on Twitter have deleted previous posts slamming a group of MAGA hat-wearing teens for allegedly taunting a Native American vet, after more footage was released disputing the initial story. From CNN’s Jake Tapper to Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams, the internet is publicly retracing its steps on this story; but in some cases, very subtly, using the ‘delete’ button.
Among those swiftly deleting their tweets are New York Times opinion writer Kara Swisher who wanted to “find these sh*tty kids” and give them a large piece of her mind, as well as other tweets calling them Nazis and nationalists.

According to Mediaite the list grew as the day went on with celebrities like Patton Oswalt deleting a tweet doxxing the kids:
Brian Krassenstein, deleted a tweet calling the students “bigoted.” The New Republic‘s Jeet Heer deleted a tweet arguing the MAGA hat-wearing teens were “racist.” CNN’s Bakari Sellers deleted a tweet suggesting the kids should be “punched in the face.”
Hollywood’s Patton Oswalt deleted a tweet linking to another that doxxed the young teens, but left up subsequent retweets maintaining his opinion that they were at fault. CNN’s Ana Navarro deleted a tweet calling out the “Asswipe” parents of the students for teaching them “bigotry” and “racism.” She tweeted an additional post with the full, unedited video of the teens, maintaining her support for Native American vet Nathan Phillips.
It’s a serious sign of the derangement of the times that the left is so desperate to prove itself correct about the right that it would jump at the chance to bash kids and put them in danger for the health of their narrative. I’d say this should be a teachable moment for the left, but I think we all know that the moment another story like the kind Buzzfeed dropped comes out, or another out-of-context example of white racism comes along, they’ll descend on the story like a pack of starving hyenas.
