A Virtue Signaling Nancy Pelosi Is STILL Receiving Pay When Federal Workers Aren't, and Trump Wonders Why

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Californistan) sure loves to virtue signal about federal workers not getting a paycheck because of, what she calls, President Donald Trump’s shutdown, completely ignoring the fact that the shutdown is continuing because Democrats are resisting giving him $5 billion for a wall. A sum they’d scoff at any other day.

Of course, Dems are refusing to give Trump the $5 billion because it would allow him to come through on his number one campaign promise, allowing him to do such a thing would empower Trump and Republicans going into 2020.

As the shutdown rolls on and federal workers go without their pay, over 70 lawmakers are refusing to accept their congressional pay, beginning with Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), who seems to have kicked off the bipartisan trend.

Pelosi is noticeably one of the lawmakers not giving up her exorbitant $223,500 a year paycheck, and refused to answer any questions about it according to the Washington Post.

Pelosi’s not alone either. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t seem to be interested in giving up her paycheck either, even though she demanded lawmakers have principles enough to refuse a paycheck when federal workers go without.

“Why is Nancy Pelosi getting paid when people who are working are not?” Trump tweeted Tuesday.

To be sure, Pelosi breaks on rules by accepting her pay, but it’s a very fair question of Trump to ask of Pelosi who has made a show out of Trump’s seeming apathy over the plight of paycheck-less federal workers over a border wall. If she cares so much about them and claims to be fighting for them, why not join them in turning down her bloated paycheck?

At least Trump can say that he doesn’t accept pay, but he never has accepted a paycheck for doing his job as the Daily Caller noted:

Trump has always donated his presidential salary, which is $400,000 a year, according to Business Insider. For example, he has given his salary to the Department of Transportation to rebuild infrastructure and to the Department of Health and Human Services to fight the opioid crisis.

As it stands, Trump has more in common with the federal workers than Pelosi ever will.
