Claire McCaskill's Advice to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez On Not Angering White Middle Class People Is Wise

Identity politics is one of the wokest kinds of racism you can engage in, and it's pretty clear that the majority of identitarianism that people engage in revolves around the resistance to and oppression from white people. In other words, in today's society, identity politics is considered pardonable racism. The social justice left's favorite boogie man, the white working class American, is also the hard left's favorite punching bag. This has cost Democrats dearly in the past, with the failed election of Hillary Clinton in 2016 to the White House as its most glaring example. Regardless, the incoming class of Democrats, best represented by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are embracing identity politics like never before. According to the

Daily Caller, outgoing Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill sees it and has a dire warning for Ocasio-Cortez and the like:
Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and others who are lurching the Democratic Party away from its traditional positions should respect working class people, McCaskill told CNN Monday during an exit interview. The Democratic senator lost her re-election bid in November. “I hope she also realizes that the parts of the country that are rejecting the Democratic Party, like a whole lot of white working-class voters, need to hear about how their work is going to be respected, and the dignity of their jobs, and how we can really stick to issues that we can actually accomplish something on,” McCaskill said of the incoming New York representative. She went on to note that Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat, talks a lot but added: “The rhetoric is cheap. Getting results is a lot harder.” McCaskill’s broadside was a parting shot at a Democratic Party that she and others believe is moving away from its bread and butter: supporting and protecting blue-collar jobs.
McCaskill is correct in more ways than she might know. As I mentioned earlier, Clinton should have had 2016 wrapped up for all intents and purposes. Instead, she embraced a narrative of identity warfare, where women, minorities, and identity groups of all shapes and sizes became her voting base while she made enemies out of white, working-class men, and sometimes even the women. And she lost. The white working class that made up a solid bulk of this country felt as unwanted as they were alienated and unsurprisingly turned their back on Clinton. She even continued to double down after her loss, essentially

pointing to middle-American men and their patriarchal adherent wives as being at fault for her loss. Clinton chose division instead of focusing on a unifying vision of what makes this country great, and all colors and backgrounds embraced the guy who was doing the latter whether they liked him as a person or not. What's interesting is that Clinton never got to experience the popularity spike that happens after a candidate loses the presidency. In fact, her popularity remained dismally low. That in itself should be a wakeup call for Democrats, but they only seem to be doubling down on the identitarianism. This isn't just wrong because it may cost them elections and power, but it's wrong because it's straight up racist, sexist, and bigoted. Ocasio-Cortez is a classist, sexist woman with every intention to push social justice nonsense, even to the point of embarrassing herself. McCaskill's warning should be echoing throughout the offices of Democrats everywhere. Don't be racist. It will hurt you.
