With Pride Month in less-than-full swing, we have seen far fewer examples of corporate fealty this year. But Major League Baseball had to get in on the multi-colored action, and it caused consternation under the rainbow. When some Christian players scrawled a Bible verse on their hats, this blew up into a decidedly one-sided controversy. Somehow, it was regarded as “hate,” and a “threat” and “intolerance” to see some words and numbers written in Sharpie.
But notably, the presence of Pride symbology was not considered aggressive. Also curious, as the players were scolded by league officials for uniform violations, the altering of the team logos was not problematic. It was all a dose of hysterical nonsense, so of course, the press was all-in on the antics.
The Obama Presidential Center was officially opened, and the media were falling over themselves with praise. In the process, they performed revisionist history by declaring him as one of the most unifying presidents, so we revisited one of his more well-known divisive incidents.
And lastly, we head to Texas, where the state Republican Party was accused of Islamophobia after controversy erupted over several Muslim attendees at the GOP convention. As it turns out, there were some important details that much of the early coverage glossed over.
Now, crack one open and savor some outmoded media malpractice and misinformation.

As we are deep in Rainbow Month once again, corporate participation and public support are ebbing.
Major League Baseball has a Pride quandary with a few players who put Bible verses on their rainbow hats during games. The outrage has been special.
The Obama Center is filled with problems (beyond being an eyesore), but the press is only filled with praise.
Obama being described as The Great Uniter ignores his history of divisiveness and reliance on racial conflict.
Some Texas outlets are covering the Muslims not permitted inside the GOP state convention.
The details behind this expulsion were the things the media would rather not elaborate on.
Texas Tribune didn’t explain in the above post that the Muslims in question were CAIR members, and that CAIR has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization in the State of Texas.
