It has been a rough week for CBS News and its famed program, “60 Minutes.”
They first complained that Donald Trump spurned their invitation for the traditional interviews with the candidates. Kamala Harris sat for an interview with Bill Whitaker and it was such a mess that the network had to take action. The recorded session was edited, then - after advance clips were released and mocked heavily – they saw fit to retrofit the segment a second time.
They were caught actually replacing her embarrassing answer to one question with an answer from a wholly different query.
Also offered was a defense against the accusation from Trump that the show lied when he sat with them in 2020. Scott Pelley defended Leslie Stahl from that visit, but his explanation falls short of explaining their subterfuge.
