This week, Tucker Carlson began his revelations on what was found in the January 6 trove of videos he received. The reactions in the press have been all over the map, while uniformly negative. Democrats have called for Fox News to silence him, while journalists have both scorched Tucker for releasing the videos and calling to gain their own access. This led to a curious reveal from Carlson himself, while on an interview with Glenn Beck. Then, there is the small matter of the January 6 Committee chair himself making a rather curious admission about these videos.

In another issue, two parallel actions are taking place in D.C. regarding Twitter. The Federal Trade Commission has demanded that the company turn over documents to show that the company is complying with needed privacy safety issues but in the process, there was also a demand that Twitter turns over a list of the journalists the company has been working with since Elon Musk took over. This overreach is a threat on press freedoms, but curiously few seem bothered by it.

Then, there was a House hearing this week, and more journalists came under attack from politicians. House Democrats were demonstrably antagonistic towards Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger when they appeared on the Hill. Both personal attacks and demands for them to reveal sources were seen, and yet again, the normal defense journalism industry seemed unbothered.

Now, kick back and crack one open to enjoy some mainstream media misbehavior and malpractice.
