As we have covered consistently, the news outlet known as CNN has been experiencing both a series of hardships as well as wholesale changes. While enduring evaporating audience numbers, the network’s parent company experienced a large merger, leading to new management coming in to bring needed changes–including this week’s announcement of significant layoffs

This episode will be a retrospective of the past year at CNN, looking at the shifts at the executive level, the rapid demise of the new streaming service, as well as the numerous big-name departures. There is even a callback to Brian Stelter, and looking at how his final segments both explained his firing and underscored the overall issues at CNN leading to its wholesale restructuring. Then, on a lighter note, I close with look at the recent offerings from the recently released Chris Cillizza.
