BREAKING: Donald Trump Wins Michigan

Townhall Media

Michigan is now in Donald Trump's win column.

The state has been a crucial swing state this cycle, serving as home to both toss-up presidential and senate races. While it wasn't thought to be the decisive state for either candidate, it was a prize both desperately wanted.

Both Harris and Trump spent an incredibly large amount of time in Michigan given its place in the "blue wall" lineup. Millions and millions of dollars were spent with dozens of rallies held; Grand Rapids, Michigan was the site of Donald Trump's final pre-election rally, and he took the stage very early Tuesday morning.

What perhaps hurt Haris the most was her waffling stance on the war between Israel and Hamas, with far-left Democrats being extremely unhappy that she didn't publicly join them in calling for Israel to be wiped off the map.

The economy was also a huge issue for voters in the state, as we reported last week:

Phil Knight, executive director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, told NBC News that it is becoming more common for people who did not use their services previously to get food at their facilities. He said it has “almost become a form of income replacement” and that it is “becoming a regular practice for lower-income families.”

President Joe Biden won the state in 2020 by a slim margin. Prior to the election, Kamala Harris led the polling average by just 0.5 percent. By winning the state, Donald Trump adds 15 electoral votes to his total and is now over the 300 electoral vote mark.
