As RedState reported on Monday, a new report is out providing another six instances of plagiarism committed by Harvard President Claudine Gay.

Gay has faced an onslaught of allegations since originally gaining attention for refusing to condemn antisemitism on her campus. The latest revelations show that in at least eight of her 17 publications, she committed plagiarism.

Unfortunately, those who you would expect to take this seriously, including the mainstream press, are continuing to play defense for Gay, who just so happens to check numerous intersectionality boxes on the left. Politico's Jonathan Martin tried to mock the report, insinuating it was meaningless in the face of the Rose Bowl, played between Michigan and Alabama.

I didn't realize that they teach people in journalism school that the news ceases to become the news if a big football game is on. That's a standard Martin lives by, or more likely, he just came up with whatever excuse he could to dismiss what is a very serious scandal involving someone he sees as an ideological ally.

Of course, the internet is forever, and it wasn't long before it was shown that Martin used to care about plagiarism deeply.

Now, I get it. Martin only cares about plagiarism when he feels like he can use it to target Republicans. Then, it's a very serious, very news-worthy issue. How incredibly convenient.

Martin doubled down, claiming that the timing of the report on Gay was "uncanny."

Of note is that the complaint about timing is not only irrelevant, it's dumb. The worst time to release a report is to put it up against a major entertainment event because most people won't be paying attention to the news. So what exactly is Martin talking about? He's not talking about anything. He's just shooting from the hip because he's a ridiculous hack who won't just admit he's a ridiculous hack.

He wasn't done, though. Martin told on himself again.

In other words, he did once care about plagiarism, so much so that he published a "scoop" about a case of it that took down a senatorial candidate. When it comes to Harvard's Gay, though, he couldn't care less. What does that say except that he's not a journalist at all but a partisan clown who will look the other way when his team is involved?

It does not matter who is behind revealing the plagiarism by Gay. What matters is that she committed plagiarism in a repeated and blatant fashion. If she were a Republican, Martin would be leading the charge for her head, and we all know it. Thus is the life of a laughable hypocrite.
